Is he even playing country any more? He's playing this weekend and Pimpadelic is opening. Seems like an odd bill otherwise.

Pimpadelic is still playing? good lord!

Old friend of mine's from HS had an older sister that used to hang out with a couple of them in the mid-90s

Been proven that's not actually him.
Quoting this old post because I worked in a music store in Odessa in the early to mid 90s, and he and his band were playing in Midland and rolled into the store. We had an Ibanez Gem in stock that we called the Wedding Guitar. All white with intricate tree of life inlay down the fretboard. And of course the Steve Vai handle. DAC saw it and bought it without even plugging it in. I wonder if it was the same guitar (of course I'm sure he may have had others).AggieTJ said:
I saw him play at Midnight Rodeo in Waco in probably '97 or '98. It was the loudest concert I have ever been to - and not for reasons you'd think. He was playing a Steve Vai-style Ibanez guitar through two 4x12 stacks, and it was all clean; no distortion, and he just strummed it like an acoustic guitar. I guess the old guy can't hear for sh*t anymore because it sounded like the amps were on 11! The sound guy couldn't fit the house sound around DAC's guitar. It was painful.
