I love him too and I don't know why. Yes I know he sucks at the actual acting part, but there's something about him that makes me feel comfortable watching him. Can't really put it into words.

This is who I thought of when I read the OP.

My cousin went to LA and tried to make it in the movie business. Guy had the looks but ZERO acting chops. He made some straight to 10 DVDs movie called Street Racer or something. After watching I told another family member that he was way too cheesy to ever make it. The family member said...."Keanu Reeves has made 10's of millions being a horrible, cheesy line actor".

So many bad movies and he'll take any role.

But give him credit, he rarely just phones a performance in. It may not be good acting, but he goes 100% Cage.

I took the kids to a movie called "Willy's Wonderland"... your basic drifter (Nick Cage) gets scammed by local cops into staying at an abandoned funhouse where animatronic creatures come to life & kill people flick.

Nick Cage managed to turn in one of the best performances of his entire career & he didn't utter a single freaking word the entire move. Amazing.

Mandy was fun.
Color From Out of Space was twisted too.

I think he is one of those guys where either you like the character he plays in almost all of his movies or you don't. I often do, and don't take his stuff seriously. I just enjoy them for what they are. Cheesy good fun.

He has no lines in Fast times. He's credited as Brad's bud.

There's a scene in the TV version where he says that Stacey is getting hot or foxy or whatever they said back then, but it's not in the movie cut.
