The arrogance on this thread is overwhelming. For all you smart people that get it and feel these writers can do no wrong I have a little tidbit for you. Heisenberg was a physicist, not a chemist. And he was not just a physicist, but one of the greatest ones ever.

Everyone on this thread is a fan of the show. But anyone that is just not dropping their pants and masturbating at the thought of it does not make that person stupid. Just chill out. I am happy this show brings such immense joy to so many on this board. But for those of us that view at as good entertainment just give us a break.

Yeah, I took quantum mechanics in college. That was the course that made me decide I wanted to be an engineer instead of a physicist. Strangest class I have ever taken.

so you got all the way to quantum mechanics, then dropped physics and became a civil engineer?

I frankly feel the same way about the show that you do. When Hank walked in to that interrogation room with Jesse and the show was over I screamed "no". I wanted to see right then and there how it was going to go down. Sundays can't get here quickly enough for me. But some IMO need to tone their passion down a little. It wasn't that the math was hard. It was just some strange stuff to get a handle on and seemed completely made up. Einstein did not believe in any of it.

The funniest thing about that senior year was this weekly seminar I had to attend. A guy from the math department came in and gave a one hour presentation on super string theory. That was actually what convinced me to become an engineer. We engineers are not the smartest people in the world but we are practical.

so you got an undergrad in physics and a grad degree in civil, but you don't believe in quantum mechanics because it seems all made up.

As I said, Einstein did not believe in it. There was a rift between those in Einstein's camp and those in Heisenberg's camp. Einstein famously stated "God does not roll dice with the universe" to which Neils Bohr responded "don't tell God what to do". Not that it mattered to me because it was way over my head. I was not good enough at it to make a living at it and I did not want to teach it. So I went on to become an engineer. I had all the classes necessary for ABET with the exception of engineering design courses. So insteasd of the normal 32 hoiurs fora grad degree I had to take almost 55 to make up for the lack of design courses.

Quantum mechanics was crazy but I made an A because I was good at math. But to give all credit to the chemists out there no amount of math knowledge could save me in Organic Chemistry. Jesus that was a hard class.

Well crap. After reading that linked article about Heisenberg it was his uncertainty principle that lead them to use that as Walter's alias. Maybe those writers are ****ing geniuses.
