Homeland has had maybe the 2 most suspenseful seasons I've ever seen in television, and if it can keep it up for 3 more, I'd give that the nod too.

I'll say it again, many people completely disregard how mediocre the writing and acting was(outside of Cranston) in the early era of this television show. It grew and became outstanding, but the fanboy overreaction to every single thing done on this show is funny at times. Very basic notions in storytelling are now "genius" by the writers.

Fantastic series. Not the best ever. One of the strongest performances ever by one actor/character no doubt. Fun ride.

Perfect ending to the best TV series I've ever seen.

I really liked what Vince Gilligan said after it was over about Walt dying in the lab being a Gollum-type moment, dying with his precious.

It was a great show. Arguing what is the best will likely always come down to personal opinion so I'm not upset that anyone would think this is the best of all time.

I don't happen to think so. I still loved it nonetheless and it is no doubt one of the best ever. Cranston gave one of the greatest performances of any character in television history, possibly the greatest.

I'll leave y'all to it the rest of the night. Gotta watch Homeland, Boardwalk and whatever else is on the DVR tonight.

Does anyone think Jesse actually gets a clean start on life? I've been seeing friends on facebook saying how happy they are for Jesse, but I just don't see it ending happily for him in a realistic world.

That was a perfect ending. Cathartic from beginning to end.

That was about as happy an ending as we could've hoped for, and I'm so glad they didn't end it ambiguously. Now that it's over, it's safe to say Breaking Bad should be considered one of, if not the greatest tv drama of all time.

On another note, watching it in a packed NYC bar was a great decision. The crowd reactions were awesome. The cheers for things like Badger and Skinny Pete, and especially for Jesse killing Todd, brought a huge smile to my face. I was cheering along with everyone as soon as Jesse started choking him.

and for those of you *****ing about the ending being too predictable....would you have wanted a different ending that made no sense or left more plot holes just so you coulda been surprised??

Perfect ending IMO. Relatively predictable but who cares. We knew since season 1 where this train was headed. It was cathartic as hell. I'm really glad they worked the confession in.

I was a massive LOST fan, I would argue one of the biggest on this board, and I would place it behind Breaking Bad.

And that is by no means a knock on LOST, that is to point out how fantastic Breaking Bad was.

So sad it's over, I think it finally hit me on the way home.

Honestly, I don't really understand the BB and Lost comparisons. Lost is, and likely will always be, my favorite show, but I can admit that BB was the "better" show from a writing standpoint. In the end, however, the shows are so radically different that they really can't be aptly compared.

Have we talked about how the cops knew to show up at the Nazi compound? I guess someone heard all of the gunshots? Not really important, but just wondering how the cops got there so quickly.

Oh, about a 1000 rounds of ammunition from a really big gun enclosed in a small area.

well its a pretty honest assessment. The show lacked direction and a strong plot. Its ok to have a character driven story, but it requires a stable plot to deliver your characters to your audience.
