It can be argued that that scene is the single most important scene of the entire series (other than Walt being diagnosed w/ cancer in the 1st episode of course). How could you forget that?

^ This.

What happened in the last season that cut Walt's nose though?

Rewatching the whole series with my better half. A couple of episodes into season 3 right now. The scene with Jane definitely impacted me more the second time because you saw Walt turn ruthless at that point. It's amazing what you pick up in the second watching.

I forgot that Jane's dad and Walt had a drink together.

Walt's glasses were broken in a fistfight with Jessie, if I recall.

yeah, it was when Jesse was freaking out about having to go to Mexico, and all Walt could do was think about killing Gus. Walt accidentally spilled it that he knew Jesse was at gus's for dinner the exact amount of time he was there, and Jesse picked up on it. Jesse flipped **** and the fight went down, Jesse beat his ass.

Oh right, totally forgot about that fight. That shat was intense.

My prediction:

I think this show ends with Jesse killing Walter.

I don't think either of y'all will be right, but both are plausible. no doubt if Jesse finds out about Walt poisoning Brock or letting Jane die he could do it, or with the random spots where it was implied his cancer is out of remission near the end of season 4, both could happen. there's also the guys in Chile we haven't met yet that kept the cartel from even killing Gus, who the hell knows?

I think so too.

Vice versa and you may have it.

Vince Gilligan has stated that Breaking Bad is about the transformation of Walter White from Mr. Chips to Scarface. Each season he sinks crosses more and more ethical lines. He's gone from passively letting enemies die (Jane) to ordering hits (Gale) to manipulating Gus walking into a death trap by poisoning an innocent child. However, the one line that he has never wavered on is his loyalty to Jessie. Betraying and killing Jessie is the last hurdle required to complete the transformation into Scarface.

(I guess it could end with him killing Hank or another family member, but I doubt that because Walter's motivation has always been his family)

The last line of the show will be Walt looking at Jesse: "let's cook..."

^^^I think I agree with gigem.

Plus, I predict one of Walt's family members is killed.

Jesse was supposed to die in season one so I wouldn't be surprised if VG doesn't dust off that scene for the finale.

agreed. let me explain by saying that this is my first viewing of season 3 and 4. i got really into this show and watched downloaded copies of the seasons 1 and 2 in a couple of weeks in anticipation of season 3. i then got way behind in season 3 and never caught up, so i didn't watch season 4. when i heard that season 5 was starting, i decided to start from scratch and watch seasons 1-3 on netflix, and i bought the season 4 blu-ray. i'm about halfway through season 3 right now.

Wouldn't be shocked if Walt somehow loses his immediate family (wife and kids) either through them dying, leaving him, or both (possibly due to Chili ordering a hit on Walt) and without his family as an anchor Walt really loses it. The show would then march toward a Walt vs. Hank finale as Hank unravels the Heisenberg mystery and Jessie breaks ranks, joins Hank, and treats us to an "et tu Brute?" death scene.

edit: Also, this would test Hank to see if he'll break bad when he learns who Walt is.

edit2: Might be kind of cool if they increasingly brought back Walts symptoms over the season as a physical manifestation of his corruption.

Betraying Jesse would be bad, but betraying a son is truly the ultimate evil. If the writers really want to show Walt as a bad man, Walt Jr will have to die. I'm not saying Walt will directly betray Walt Jr or kill him, but I think Walt's actions will somehow lead to Walt Jr getting killed by somebody at some point.

One of the main themes all along is that for every step he takes forward, he seems to take 2 steps back. His life has been total hell ever since he started cooking meth along with the lives of everybody he is even remotely connected to. I can see BB ending with him dying of cancer, without a penny to his name, with Walt Jr having already been killed, and with no relationship with his family at all.

From Alan Sepinwall's Twitter:
Great Scott! RT @ManoliVozos: I just realized that Breaking Bad is the R-rated meth version of Doc Brown & Marty McFly's relationship.

Awesome... sneak peak of the scene after the cold opening of the season premiere:

No spoilers, just a great 1:40 clip to whet the whistle.

Can't wait!

You can tell in that clip that he is taking major exception to the idea of Hank being the hero for his work.

Walt's arrogance is what will do him in. Plain and simple.

Best show on TV without a doubt.

I wasn't sure if they would pick up right away from the S4 final or pick up 6 months later

Thoughts:

* it will be interesting to see how\where they will re-create the lab to cook and how distribution will work

* wonder if there is any IRS issues with Ted and the carwash leftover

* the Cartel and\or chilean contacts will surely not be pleased. Will need more "bad" guys" for Walt to encounter.

* do Walt and Jesse take over the SW meth industry just to spite Hank's fame? it seems like now would be the time to totally back out of the meth culture

I just watched the last 3-4 episodes of S4 and can't wait for this.

Just finished watching season 4. Holy ****! I thought season 3 was kinda boring save for about 4-5 big moments. Season 4 was great start to finish. I think the series ends with Hank busting Walt. All I know for sure is that there will be plenty of twists and turns before we get to the series finale.
