Has anyone seen it? If so, what do you think?

It's ok. Good dialogue but overall a pretty weak story. Worth it though to see all the Austin shots including the Texas Chili Parlor, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a cheerleading uniform.

I also thought the ending was pretty hilarious.

Is that the grind house double feature?

the movies were both terrible, the fake trailers were worth the price of admission

Enjoyed Death Proof but hated Planet Terror. Probably my least favorite Tarantino movie.

Everything RR does is horrid. I honestly don't understand how he is so popular.

When viewed as a "Grindhouse Double Feature", I actually enjoyed PT more than DP. PT seemed more like a "grindhouse" movie with the spots and grain on the film, the 'missing' reel gag and the overall low-budget insanity of the plot.

Death Proof just seemed like a straight-forward QT film with some fake film grain thrown in just so that it kinda matched Planet Terror's look/feel. As an ode to 'grindhouse' films...it wasn't, while Planet Terror was.

Viewed by itself, it's overlong with a lot of dull scenes ending with some great car stuntwork. It's the only Tarantino movie with little re-watch value.

Agree with Bill.

Planet Terror was way better than Death Proof.

Spy Kids and Desperado are awesome and I thought Sin City and From Dusk till Dawn were both pretty good.

Death Proof has the best car chase and worst character in movie history.

What SP said, plus it was fun seeing a 440 71 Challenger and 440 69 Charger "duke" it out. The sound of those big blocks was pretty rad.

I'm from Austin, so it was cool seeing a lot of local shots.

That being said, when I first saw it in the theaters, I was completely surprised on how amazing planet terror was, and how disappointed i was for Tarantino's half of grindhouse. The fake movie trailers were the best by far.

Just rewatched these for the first time since they came out. I remember liking DP more the first time, this time I had more fun with PT. Yeah it was dumb and silly but it was fun. Great squib work. DP had better characterization and some great scenes, but it took forever to get to them. All the 30 something year old women talking about making out was...idk. Sidney Poitier's daughter Sydney was hot af though. The grindhouse style flicks were before my time, but I feel like RR understood the assignment better.

Planet Terror is starting right now on Encore, if anyone is else is sitting at home right now.
Followed by Death Proof, of course.

This is my recollection as well. Finally something happens and then reset for another 30. The first set of girls were particularly boring.

I've watched Planet Terror many times. Schlocky fun, and half the lines live in my head 24/7. Particular JT the barbecue guy.
