Question for you older people. I see that the request was for "real country music", and pretty much all of the songs posted are from the classic country playlist. So that makes me wonder what the definition to everyone of "real country music" is. Could all of this classic country be the days of past "nashville" scene? Were there groups in the past that were similar to what a REK, Ryan Bingham, William Clark Green type bands today. Where they don't get played on the major stations but they have big followings as "texas country"?
FGL new album is the worst album in the history of country music So today i learned the FGL has a former Nickleback band member as a producer and another Nickleback alum as the band's manager. That explains why they are just so terrible. Bro-country/CRAP needs to die off.
Y'all are doing a great job with these. Here's my contribution
Slaid Cleaves - Last of the V-8s A lot of Slaid's music probably falls under folk instead of country, but I admire him a lot for his songwriting.
Corb Lund - Devil's Best Dress I've been a big fan of Corb after seeing him open for Hayes a few years ago. A lot of Mary Robbins coming through in this song
So I know we're going for traditionally country sound on this thread, but I figured maybe some folks who like good country might also enjoy this guy whose music isn't necessarily country per se, but I think has the same spirit as some of the best country music from the 70s:

I really hate to sound like Redstone here but that is one of his newer albums, although it and Rollercoaster are, IMO, his best 2. The latest, Trouble, is growing on me too.
