I may be in the minority here but I think Fury is literally a close to perfect WWII film. I have actually grown to love it as much as Saving Private Ryan or a Bridge Too Far.
I found the film nearly perfect until the final scenes. The ending was absolutely terrible. The notion that five enlisted men would sacrifice their lives for a busted Sherman tank at the end of a war that was already determined is just stupid. Furthermore, any NCO (Pitt) that would guilt his crew in to doing so is nearly embarrassing. Also, any Wehrmacht commander that would keep sending squad after squad to their death to take out a single, disabled, Sherman tank, it the final days of an already decided war, would have been killed by his own troops.
All they had to do was try to escape the disabled tank, then come to the conclusion there was no way to reasonably escape considering the German forces in the area. Then, make the decision to make the Fury the Alamo because they really had to no other option and then just fight it out.
