Obviously it's all still subjective, so I of course respect your right not to like it... The gay roommate took a while for his character to find a groove but I ended up really liking him. Definitely took a few episodes though.

I like the show but don't love it.

But the over-the-top gay guy is a cheap trick for cheap laughs. And maybe I expect more from a show than the guy who that mischaracterizes 99.99% of gay guys as this...

The thing about Kimmie Schmidt (and most of Tina Fey's work) is that they take potshots at everyone. No one is safe from satire. So yeh the gay guy is flaming and ridiculous, but so is everyone else on the show. It's equal opportunity. Probably you just aren't into over the top satire. Did you like 30 Rock at all?

Really liking this season. Like them getting away a little bit from the Jacqueline/ Kimmy relationship for stretches. And I like them digging in more to the more serious emotional stuff.
