Been avoiding this thread until I finished the show. I think yall have pretty much covered it. I really enjoyed it as well.

quote:Brilliantly stated. 100% true.
A kid in the late 70's and early 80's would be left to jump on his bike first thing in the morning, hopefully come home for 15 minutes to wolf down a lunch, and then come home around dusk for dinner, without any supervision. You called home if you wanted to spend the night at your buddy's. You were free to ride all over town to fish, play baseball, go to 7-11 for video games, play D&D or Atari at someone's house, build a fort, whatever. This show nailed that freedom perfectly and made me sad that our kids don't have that.

quote:Forgive me if I missed it, but did anyone who discussed the bikes say it ruined the show for them? It's a side discussion of a prop that doesn't fit the time period. Can you please provide for us a list of acceptable topics to talk about in this thread?
It's absolutely ridiculous how much you guys have focused on the ****ing bikes. Let it go.

quote:They way of the "Lost" threads are gone i think. It sucks because those threads actually enhanced the show.
It's a shame we can't discuss these shows in real time. I love the Netflix model and all, but a show like Stranger Things deserves a week-long digest per episode.
quote:Yeah. I actually got a little bored binging it to be honest. I didn't finish as I figured the later episodes couldn't be as good as the first few.

quote:Man Ive watched GOT off and on. I actually think it got better by season 5, but I'm still struggling to maintain interest. Rooting against Ramsay is what I live for though
Do you watch GoT?

Another mistake is that they didn't have anyone named Corey. Even in a small town you'd have at least a dozen Coreys back in the 80's.

Corey wasn't even in the top 20 for 70s or 80s. Except in your neighborhood.

Did you seriously like look that up?
