Don't worry, Disney is almost done with their live actions. I hear Song of the South is in early talks.

Really running this one into the ground huh?
This writer seems to think that it is so they will have all their top franchises ready and available at the launch of Disney+TCTTS said:
That's a great point, and it makes absolutely no sense. There was ALSO Dumbo in April. I cannot figure out why Disney is squeezing *everything* into 2019, other than to, yeah, test that theory. It's insane.

However, Disney overloaded this year with the most significant installments of their most prominent brands. They did so partially to make sure those titles will be dropping onto Disney+ over the next 18 months or so. Fair or not, rival studios had plenty of advance notice to get the hell out of the Mouse House's way this season.
Great post. Beyonce definitely seems like the lazy type. I mean she's sold 160 million albums worldwide, so she definitely needs the money from voice acting in a cartoon.Grapesoda2525 said:
How are you guys seeing it already?
I thought it dropped on Friday? Or do some of you live on the east coast?
Responding to the guy above, I was disappointed to see Beyonce in it. I don't have a favorable opinion of her, she was probably just there to do as little as possible and collect a big check. I still remember when she shut down a whole hospital wing to have a baby and other families couldn't get in to see their kids because of it.

Your memory about the hospital wing is also spot on. At least, until the week after the baby was born in 2012 when the hospital director revealed that the 2 people who claimed they couldn't get to see their families because of Beyonce's presence were actually lying (GASP) to try and make some money off her or the hospital.
There are some new scenes, and some new characters in one part of the movie (which was probably the best addition), and then some scenes that I feel probably were a little longer this time. Even though it's 30 minutes longer, I didn't feel like the movie felt paced slower. I'm sure the original is the same way, but it's kind of stunning how quickly the movie gets from the part where adult Nala and Simba are reunited to the end of the movie.MuckRaker96 said:
I read it was like 30 minutes longer than the original - were there not a lot of new scenes?
