I saw it last weekend and I've been thinking about it ever since. I get the basic idea on brother and voice but I sense there's lots that I'm not getting, like motivation, though I'm admittedly slow on the uptake on a lot of things. I may have to watch it again.

I caught the brother twist when he was walking out of the Designing Woman's house... did not see the voice coming.
Same here. I figured out the brother pretty early one, but not the voice.

I really liked it.

Finally watched it last night. I think the little brother twist is why critics didn't like it. It definitely knocked the movie down a couple notches for me. Otherwise a very fun flix.

Well said.

Watched it with the wife last night.

The brother thing was a litte goofy ... but not as goofy as the Treasury guy worshipping him.

Still a good flick. They just kind of hosed up the third act ... much worse than Wonder Woman ... which has now passed 360 mil domestically BTW.

I didn't catch on to the voice until googling it because you guys mentioned it, and I've seen the movie twice. Smrt.

What Voice are y'all referring to? Him muttering Louis Carroll on the tape?

edit...ok, found it. Interesting.

It has 50% on RT because why? Have you seen the population of idiots in the world roaming the earth? Most of whom never thought that high school graduation was the pinnacle of their lives.

I wanted the writers to work in a scene where he used the Gatling gun in the garage...

Can't wait for the 2nd rendition of this. I've watched this movie probably 5 times and I finally figured out who the British female voice is - lol.

I thought that was an amazing twist that the non vocal little girl at the beginning turned out to be his "handler" with the synthesized British accent. I got goose bumps when I figured it out.

I've tried to explain this to others but most really don't get it.

How did it stack up to the original? Did it seem like a pointless rehash?

It would be difficult to match up well with the original, but this one does alright. They explored the relationship with the brother a little more and that may or may not have been a good thing. All in all, I enjoyed it and it is good as well as sequels go, but doesn't quite match up.

Holy crap, I just connected this as well. Watched it last night for the 3rd or 4th time to freshen up before seeing the sequel. I guess I just never thought about it. AWESOME. But I feel dumb for not making that connection before.

Crazy that the first one has a 53% RT score, while this one is at 78%. The first isn't the best movie ever or anything but 53% is criminally low imo.

Yeah, it was an enlightening moment for me too - like the whole movie was different then!

I just got back from 2. We enjoyed it- there was more humor, but they kinda toned down the main character's autistic characteristics in my opinion. Enjoyed the movie quite a bit, but IDK if it has the rewatchability factor of the first one. Way more Bernthal doing his obnoxious thing. I like him, but a little goes a long way.

I rewatched the first before I went to see the second. I love the first one, but I enjoyed the second even more.

I took my dad to see it this weekend, and I think it is very rewatchable. The jokes hit even a little better the second time through as you anticipate them. The brothers kinda play off each other so well.

I might be in the minority, but I really enjoyed it. The original might have been a better movie, but I think the second is more fun.

Totally agree with that last point- I think the original is better, but number two is more fun. I enjoyed it.
