I followed this saga from the very beginning, through many twists and turns, and there's no doubt things are better now than they were. Although it was a missed opportunity - there is a real hunger for a credible IMDB alternative - everyone here who offered advice and encouragement should feel good about working toward the vision. Quite the ride.

I met TCTTS at a SoCal football watching party in 2007 or 2008ish.

Any updates on that sci-fi tv show based on Octavia Butler's Dawn? Any other projects coming soon into fruition?

Was that at the bar in/near Manhattan Beach? I think I've only ever been to one official A&M SoCal watching party and that had to be it. The main thing I remember about that is one of my friends being on a cleanse and bringing an entire gallon of that weird cayenne pepper cleanse drink to the bar and me being slightly embarrassed.

As for Dawn, yes, I wish I could say, but it's not public just yet. Big, big news that's not 100% finalized, but is super close. Knock on wood that the deals go through and we can announce in the next few weeks, hopefully.

And then yeah, we've three other projects that have also moved beyond my wildest dreams. One is a film we're doing with Amazon Studios, the second is another film we're doing with a well-known actor and a director who's in high demand right now, and then the third is a limited series we're doing with Gran Via (Breaking Bad) and Anonymous Content (True Detective). I can't get into details just yet, but they're all incredibly cool projects and have the full backing of their respective studio/production heads, which is crazy. Once those are further along, I'll be able to talk about them in more detail as well.

Then I'm simultaneously trying to finish one script while starting another; the first being a true-life crime drama set in 1960 Odessa and the next an original sci-fi idea I'm developing, which I'm really excited about.

So, yeah... we've got a lot cooking, with a couple other things we're trying to get in the oven as well. Exciting times. I just Hollywood didn't move so damn slow and that we could get this stuff out into the wild for everyone to see.

Instead of launching the new site piece by piece, feature by feature, we felt we had to make a big splash and release it all at once in order to compete, and trying to spin so many plates at once proved too much to handle in the long run.

TNCCS I believe has a lot of excellent projects in the works with his Hollywood-style entertainment production company.

Don't want to spoil anything, but I encourage posters and lurkers to follow his work here.

If and when that one happens, unfortunately it's going to be a while. I've got the drama I'm finishing now, the sci-fi thing after that, and then a five-episode limited series I need to finish after that. So it'll be a couple years before I can give that one serious consideration.

I can talk about the projects that are based on actual intellectual properties, since our deals are technically publicly knowledge, but I can't talk about what people/companies are attached yet...

We either own or co-own the rights to those books/articles, and each one has been set up with a prominent production company or studio. A couple of the projects have talent attached (i.e. a big director or star) and all are currently in the script phase.

Then we have a couple other projects that are loosely based on real-life events, but don't require intellectual property deals, that are also set up with production companies.

Finally, I'm currently writing two projects myself for our company; a period drama set in 1960 Odessa, based on a true story, and an original sci-fi script. Then we have two other projects on the back-burner that we're developing and I plan on writing next; a drama set in the oil industry in early '90s Texas, and a Goonies/Stranger Things-esque limited series set on and around a popular Texas lake.

We have our eyes on a few other things as well, but we need to sell a couple of these first, and get Dawn into production, so we can get our plate cleared a bit. But that's just about everything and as much detail as I can give at the moment.
