The pace seems to be at a crawl for me too. Not sure if that's just because I've caught up and no longer binging it, but it is dragging.

Man, I'm trying to stick with it but this season is testing my patience. Once June left Gilead, it's gotten progressively worse. And I don't think I can take anymore shots of Elizabeth Moss making a face into the camera for 2-3 solid minutes. The pace is already glacial without these self-indulgent scenes.

And don't get me started on the bloody breakfast scene from episode 1. My God, that was unnecessary an way too long.

Watched the first 2 or 3 of this season and I agree about it falling very flat now. Was way more interesting early on in the "world building" sense.

"Self indulgent" is a great description of some of the camera work. June sucks. I see too that she directed a lot of these? I don't seem to recall the early stuff having her name on it, is that right? If so, what is the reason for the change?

Bump for Season 6

Is anyone still keeping up with this show? I'm not sure why it has gotten so bad, maybe it's because they keep trying to lean into social commentary as opposed to world building.

I'm really hating the current Mayday story line, it makes absolutely zero sense that Luke, Moria, or June would have any command authority within the resistance.

We fell off when I made my post back in 2022. Haven't watched since. Both agreed it got very bland, repetitive, one-dimensional.

It started falling off two seasons ago. Then last season was pretty bad. I'll still probably watch the newest season, but it's low on my list. I haven't even started it yet.

I'm enjoying it. And when June stepped in front of Commander Lawrence's car and he just says "aw hell no" - I laughed pretty hard.

I thought last season was the series end...no idea it was gonna have another.

It would have made sense to end the show when she escaped the first time...maybe get her other daughter out at the same time...perfect ending.

Now they have gone the way of TWD, with over the top stuff...Im still watching semi-interested. Just glad this is the LAST season. If they had not announced it was the final season, I would not be watching anymore. I just want to see it finish at this point.

Finally caught up on this season tonight. Just in time for the finale next week!

Agree .. The show peaked a while ago, but this season is arguably stronger than the last 2-3.

Feels like most former fans of this show that I know aren't watching this season mainly because they forgot that it didn't already end almost 2 years ago .. we complain about all shows nowadays taking longer and longer to release new seasons (with fewer episodes)….but this one takes the cake.

Just think - when season 1 came out in summer 2017, Sumlin still had a whole Ag football season left to coach, and Jimbo was 4 seasons off of a Natty in Tallahassee.
