Caught a random preview for a new show debuting on Audience (Direct TV channel?) based on the Stephen King's Mr. Mercedes Trilogy. I read the series and enjoyed it immensely. In an article, King called it a foray into straight detective/murder mystery, so it's not your typical King type stuff. I'm a King fan, but I actually think these stories from start to finish are among the most satisfying I've read from his catalog.

It's done by David E. Kelly and Jack Bender, and it's got Brenden Gleeson and Roadhouse's own Kelly Lynch in it. I'm in.

Thanks for posting. Gleeson isn't who I pictured for Hodges, but I'm sure he will do a good job. Loved these books, wish he had done more than 3 of them

I enjoyed the books. Had no clue there was going to be a series made off of it.

Liked but didn't love the books, the ending of EOW was pretty dumb but the end of most of his books kinda stink.

The woman cast as Holly looks to be way too hot vs the book character.

The books were good until all the weirdness of the last one. Not as well written as his earlier stuff.

Pilot was really good. Fully in.

The first episode was good - it followed the book very nicely. I kind of forgot how disturbing some of it was!

3 episodes in. Pretty good little series nearly entirely under the radar because of the channel (Audience) I suspect.

Agree that the books were great. Except the very end of EOW really. But if they leave this to just the MM book it should be good. Would be intrigued by 2nd series based on FK but maybe change EOW if it makes it to a third season.

Yeah, we watched it. I thought it was an OK start, but really hate the Dr and his hooker wife.

That was a really slow premier episode. I hope the season picks up a little more.
From reading the books, I guess they are just skipping book 2 and going straight into book 3? I kinda liked the second book and wanted to see it carried out on film.

Anyone been watching the new season? Didn't even know there was a third season until it popped up on the DVR.

They are doing the second book, been good so far.

Just finished the 3rd season..... really enjoyed it.

I'm gonna assume its done now. there were 3 books and although it only followed those loosely especially in seasons 2 and 3 it really got the SK spirit and vibe right. And the overall story arc was similar in the end. Some pretty F'ed up stuff especially in S3. Was especially pleased to see Kate Mulgrew (Capt. Janeway) in such a good "meaty" role. What a lunatic she was.

Well done overall. Now that it is on Peacock (S1 and S2) maybe more people will discover it and I assume S3 will be on there eventually.

Pretty eff'd up show. Watching the first season with the lady. Going to start season 2 tonight. Not sure if I'll make it through a second set. I might be getting old, as I just can't stomach the overt visceral stuff any more.
