The musical choices for the marketing so far have been phenomenal. So unexpected. This one? Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and it works beautifully. Almost as excited for this as I am Endgame this summer...

T.J. Storm was born to an African-American father and Puerto Rican mother somewhere in Indiana. He was put up for adoption and raised in Hawaii to a Native American-Caucasian mother and Mexican-American father.

Damn. How many diversity points does that count as? (meant good naturedly)
I don't see any LGBTQXYZ or disabilities in there. Maybe they're playing some cards close to the chest?

That looks like the awesome, apocalyptic monster movie that Pacific Rim tried to be. Can't wait!

Ditto.

Godzilla is a life-long favorite. Yeah, the original Japanese movies were 99.999999% crap by today's standards. One could always get a laugh out of watching them. Folds were obvious in the monster costumes. Wires were clearly visible on model F-86 Sabres. Those tanks were clearly remote control models. But for a 4-year-old, these movies were awesome. Big monsters, people running and screaming, military stuff ... yeah, greatness.

The 1998 movie was neat but I never considered it to be a Godzilla movie. It was just a giant iguana with an ending sequence right out of Aliens. The 2014 Godzilla movie, though, nailed it. That was a real giant monster, no folds visible, and when it fought against something, it looked pretty dad-gummed real. Now getting to see updated versions of Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidrah, as well as a new take on Godzilla taking on King Kong next year, is just about as close to a cinematic dream come true.

I have stayed off this thread since page one cause I found the last one pretty boring. However, after watching that, if my kids ask me to take them I won't say no. Damn.

plus Lord Tywin is in it. Everything is better with Lord Tywin.

And now I no longer care about the Avengers movie.

It's speculated that Tywin is the older version of Tom Hiddleston's character from Kong: Skull Island.

Whoa. That would be bad ass. I keep forgetting that this is even connected to that.

Today is the first I've posted on this thread. Admittedly, I have also been a Godzilla nerd since I was a little kid. Watched pretty much every one of the old movies on VHS, and lots of times. For the most part I really enjoyed the 2014 Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island. I have several of the old Godzillas on DVD and I've been going back and watching them lately. Man, they are cheesy. Lol

I watched the 2014 Godzilla the other day on Blu Ray, and man I couldn't get over how awesome the special effects were. The Mutos, Godzilla, everything just looked so real. I hope it's the same as this one and quality wasn't sacrificed in order to give the Titans more screen time. Godzilla only had like a few minutes worth of actual screen time in 2014.

There's a big clue in that IMAX preview that might tell how Godzilla is able to beat Ghidorah.

After watching all the previews, it seems like Rodan isn't really on a side. He's just out there fighting everyone.

Regarding the old Godzilla movies ...

I have to admit that in watching this preview (and it's my second most-anticipated movie for the first part of the year), I am actually kinda bummed that Ghidrah appears to be an Earth creature rather than an extra-terrestrial from Planet X with these goofy human controllers.

But I agree, that 2014 Godzilla (and this movie as well) are the most believable Godzilla movies ever, in terms of the effects.

Finally watched the IMAX clip, and holy crap, I honestly think I'm going to get more out of this than Endgame. I'm endlessly curious to see what Endgame has in store, and it will no doubt be bittersweet to see a lot of those character go, but man, every single thing about this movie just looks mind blowing

Also, how crazy is it that Coach Taylor has now been in THREE different monster movies/franchises? Peter Jackson's King Kong, Super 8, and now this, which will cross paths with the rebooted King Kong next year.

Going out on a limb and guessing a little independent film called Avengers: Endgame

Yep, I'm sure no one has even heard of this movie starring a bunch of who-is-that types. Probably gonna suck.

Seriously, my most anticipated is Endgame, followed by Episode IX, Godzilla, Lion King, and Spiderman Far From Home. IT Chapter 2 also has me intrigued.

For those with HBO NOW (not HBO GO), the five minute IMAX clip is currently live on that platform. Rumor is, the clip might also debut on regular HBO just before Game of Thrones tonight, then will hopefully be online for everyone else as well...

So I watched Godzilla 1 last night because I hadn't seen it since it came out. First half of that movie is pretty damn boring but it picks up.

New sound track release and this is awesome. Fans of the classic movies will appreciate this. Legendary has done a great job incorporating music into its trailers and it appears the soundtrack will be great too.

And check this out:
