This looks fantastic.

Directed by Ben Stiller, an eight-part limited series starring Patricia Arquette, Paul Dano, and Benicio Del Toro, Escape at Dannemora is "based on the stranger-than-fiction prison break in upstate New York in the summer of 2015 which spawned a statewide manhunt for two convicted murderers, aided in their escape by a married female prison employee who carried on months-long affairs with both men."

Debuts November 18 on Showtime...

Anyone else watching this? It's three episodes in, and easily one of the best shows of the year so far. Kind of a slow burn, but Ben Stiller is directing the hell out of it, and the three leads are giving fantastic performances (especially Arquette, who I think will win the Emmy). I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to fill that Sunday night HBO gap for the time being...

Watched all but finale yesterday and finale tonight. Fantastic.

Dano, Del Toro & Arquette might have each produced 3 of the top 10 acting performances of the year regardless of medium in this thing. Holy *****

Excellent series. The guy who played her husband deserves all the awards in the world. That guy IRL is really that dopey. Wolf shirts and all.

Fun fact - my dad was hired as a consultant to review the circumstances at the prison that led to the escape. There were no less than a million things wrong with that facility and their staff. It's shocking something like that didn't happen sooner.

Watched first 3 episodes. Remember when it happened. How much is Loosely based on true events vs this is the way it all went down I don't know. Great show.

Lots of folks compared this to Shawshank. Yes pretty suspenseful prison escape story but big difference - especially after watching episode 6. In Shawshank you cheered for Andy Dufresne and Red, in this one these guys are just horrible people.

How has this not gotten more attention on Texags?

Great series (though we are only half way through episode 7 since it's an hour and half long).

Episode 6 was good at showing just how horrible these people really are. Before that, they were somewhat likable characters. Not Andy Dufresne level obviously, but I didn't hate them.

So this just popped up on Netflix for us and we are 6 episodes in. Not sure why I didn't hear about this 7 years ago! Series has been great thus far.
