Saw it last night, didn't care for it. I thought it would be more dark comedy and satire than just a blatant hit job.

Showing California wildfires and school shooting footage was what really killed it for me. Look, Cheney is no saint and I'm sure did some f'd up stuff...can we stick with that and not sensationalize it even more?

That said, Bale did an incredible job. The look, mannerisms, voice...all spot on.

For those who have seen it, how did they treat the quail hunting incident?

The commercials make it appear that he blatantly shot someone while sitting in a truck. It's pretty clear if that's how they framed it, it's a complete fabrication.

If they took the liberty of making that part up, I have serious questions about what else they would take liberty with

At the very beginning, they make it clear that some, a lot, much, is made up because, well it's Dick Cheney. If you go into the movie knowing that, it's funny as hell. If you go into it believing what's being presented, it's scary as hell. If you don't believe any of it, then you'll be pissed and likely walk out.

What you see in the previews is pretty much what you see in the movie. He's sitting in a truck and just shoots a guy in the face.

I'd expect nothing less. The sad thing is, some people will see this and be dumb enough to think the portrayal of these people is real life.

I still can't get over Steve Carrell as Rumsfeld. That's "Denise Richards playing nuclear scientist" bad.

But this movie was never meant to be serious, just shock value.

I enjoyed the movie, but I have this rare ability to not let politics get in the way of me being entertained...I can see why others would not enjoy this movie.

We just saw it. It was long. Too long. Great acting. Watch it on Netflix or Redbox.

We saw it today and could not believe we spent $$ on it. It is a liberal hit job that could not decide if it was a documentary or a movie for entertainment. Bale was very good. Movie was very bad.

How could you not know this going in? Especially if you're someone apparently so easily annoyed by such content?

I really don't want to take this to a Forum 16 place, but to me there's a difference.

Most of us are usually pretty used to the fact that anything out of Hollywood is going to have a liberal slant. It's a fact of life to any of us even remotely conservative.

When the entire premise of the movie is mean spirited and not factually correct for the purpose of embarrassing the opposite party, then it's a hit job.

I knew that from the previews based on the numerous flat out lies presented in it but maybe the poster was expecting something different. Honestly don't know.

I normally don't have a problem as long as it is at least clever and entertaining...which I thought it was.

I'm a fan of Dick Cheney and Christian Bale and wanted to see the movie just for those reasons...liberal hit job or not.

BUT, it sounds like it shares a similar style to The Big Short, which I hated. I'm out.

Thanks for saving me a little time on this one.

Saw it. It is propaganda.

Had a 30 minute discussion with Dick Cheney once in 2004. He was very genuine and concerned with the topic at hand. Extremely sharp and asked for more and more information. He even went out of his way to help out with the topic of the conversation.

Very short experience with the man but I didn't see evil in him at all. I'm sure he was power hungry with little patience for anyone who allowed him but I was a fan after that conversation.

Got it. Well now I know, I guess.

On topic, I was pumped when I first heard about Vice but the trailer makes it look really stupid.

No, what's scary as hell is that there are sheep out there who will go into this movie and believe every thing presented in it as being truthful and factual.

These are the same people who get their marching orders from "The Daily Show."

Oh, I think people are smart enough to know the difference.

FIFY, and even then, the margin of difference between movie goers who believe it all vs. those who know much of it is made up will probably be pretty slim.

I watched it last night. I don't think it is McKay's best work but it was entertaining.

I 100% thought it was dark comedy. The thing is... if you are doing a comedy on somebody's life or around something real like politics... you have to expect the sensationalism.

In terms of it being a hit job, I somewhat agree. It felt like McKay wanted to cover off so many little stories of Dick Cheney that it sort of felt like he covered none of them very well which was my problem with the movie. I walked in expecting the sensationalism as should everybody who sees this film.

That's 30 minutes more than anyone associated with this movie spent with Cheney.

But what an experience! Even a few minutes with someone that high-level would be fascinating, but 30 minutes? Wow.

I didn't care for it either, but we are in the minority.

Loved the book... thought the movie was gimmicky

Finally saw it last night.

Definitely a spiritual sequel to The Big Short. I enjoyed it. You have to take it with a grain. Bale was great, but at times I felt that the breathing, speech pacing, etc., were a little too over done. Maybe that was intentional.

My only real complaint is my the same as my biggest gripe about Goodfellas (a movie I love): Don't break the fourth wall in the final scene of a movie if you haven't done that the entire movie already. Corny as hell.
Life's an endless party, not a punch card.

Just saw this movie. Liked the acting, but the rest of it was like if you asked someone over on forum 16 to direct a movie on the Clintons.
