I have not read the Neil Gaiman book that this miniseries is based on, but I am a big fan. It's starring David Tennant, who I am an even bigger fan of, so I'm extremely excited to see this.

It was a pretty terrible book, maybe it will translate better to TV. The premise is interesting but the writing just wasn't there for me.

I humbly disagree; this is one of my favorite books ever.

Very much looking forward to this miniseries - it looks excellent.

I recently read this book but I could barely get through it. I am hopeful that the miniseries is better than the book.

I'm really excited for this. Pratchett and Gaiman wrote a great book together. I hope this turns out as well as the BBC adaptations of Pratchett's Discworld novels have.

Welp. 3:21 am and I just finished the series.

I really enjoyed it overall.

Very faithful to the book, for the most part, with all of its strengths and its weaknesses.

Not sure how the ending will resonate with Americans. it is so... British.

But the series rests on the shoulders of Michael Sheen and David Tennant and they have such incredible chemistry together.

In an interview Gaimen mentioned that Sheen and Tennant were joking about taking a play version on the road and they would alternate playing Crowley and Aziriphale every other night. So talented they could pull it off.

What a cast of stars they managed to line up for this! My only comment about this aspect is that Adria Arjona is way too hot to hook up with the nerd witch hunter.

I enjoyed the show alright, but as far as the writing is concerned, it seemed like the target audience was young teens 90% of the time. The remaining 10% was a little too racy.

4 episodes in and really enjoying it. Acting is great. I read the book long ago but if memory serves they are staying pretty true to the story. Also 92% audience score on RT so others like to as well. Definitely an appreciation for the British humor is needed to enjoy it.

I'm 3 episodes in and I am enjoying it so far. I sort of feel they are trying a little too hard to be quirky and ironic. I wish they would tone that down a bit. Then again I did not read the book so the show may be following the books lead on this. Either way, I plan on finishing the rest of the episodes.

My wife began this last night and we watched the first 2 episodes.

I's good and definitely has British humour (my wife is British and enjoyed some of the small one-liners).
I don't normally watch shows but I found this one to be worth not ignoring.

I did have to explain the joke in the first episode were the good angle tells Adam "don't let the sun set on you here". I found that funny and she asked why.

Is it the greatest show? No. But it is decent.

Really enjoyed it. Been ages since I read the book and kind of want to read it again.

With how good this was, and with American gods getting an adaptation I hope that somebody decides to adapt Neverwhere. The previous attempt was... lackluster.

I agree with this. He has also hinted he is writing a sequel. Hope he has time with all his TV work.

Finished it last night and I had just finished my third or fourth rereading before I started watching the series. They did a great job adapting the book. All the things they added to the show really helped out with the story. A few things were missing but I can't complain. They did a wonderful job.

That was a well done adaptation. I wish Amazon would give the same treatment to a few of Pratchett's Discworld books.

I've read one of them and it was fantastic, would love to see those adapted. There is a cool independent adaptation that was done:

And two eps into the series so far and loving it.

The BBC has done 3 so far: Hogfather, Going Postal, and the Colour of Magic. The first two were good. The last was meh, but it's also my least favorite of the Discworld books.
