It's been a good run for Matthew, but I suppose he was due for another stinker. The Guardian pulls no punches on how they feel about it. I'm a little surprised... the trailers I saw made it look like a compelling film noir. Oh well... genuinely excited to find out what the horrible ending is.

Thank GOD my wife hasn't seen previews for this. She loves McCauno-whatever and the preview I saw actually looked like it could be an interesting neo-noir thriller I could take her to.

After reading that, she would have been PI$$ED and probably blamed me for dragging her to it.

I would have laughed my ass off.

Baker catches Justice with his fishing rod and passes it over to Frank, who is dragged off the boat and drowns in the ocean because of Justice's immense tuna-strength. Patrick gets up from his computer and, off-screen, kills his abusive stepdad. Justice is served.
That's it. That is the very real plot of Serenity. Get a Brink's truck filled with Razzies to Steven Knight's driveway posthaste; we've got a runaway winner on our hands.

Saw it tonight. I personally really liked it. I don't care what reviewers or anyone else says. I thought it was well executed and mildly original. There was a lot of "Mud" in here from McConaughey - a movie from him I also liked. But this was my kind of movie - not quite what it seems, a little offbeat, etc. I didn't find "the twist" to be that unexpected - you could see it coming for awhile I thought. But perhaps that's because I knew there was a twist (not that I knew what it was though).

In the end, can I say I was entertained? Yes. Not sure it should win any awards good or bad though.
