I searched for a thread about this but couldn't find one. Who here watched the 7 episode series? What'd you think?

The gratuitous boob/ass shots were nice. Everything Reese Witherspoon's character said throughout the show is what every woman wants to say but doesn't because it's not polite. I loved watching her play that role.

Watched it with the wife since she read the book and wanted to see it.

I thought it was pretty good. I am not a Reese fan and her character made me dislike her even more. If I was Ed I would have divorced her. Adam Scott is an underrated actor IMO.

Nicole Kidman is in the category of "I could watch her fold clothes and get aroused" so there is that.

I find Shailene Woodley to be incredibly attractive in a "girl next door" kind of way.

Zoe Kravitz is a complete smokeshow. Did I mention this series has hot women?

I am perplexed by relationships such as the one the book/series is centered on. Two incredibly good looking, very successful, people, stay together in a toxic/abusive relationship.

The ending is just blatantly stupid though. Even in California, no one is going to spend a day in jail for violently fighting off a domestic abuser who beats his wife and has abused and violated others. That's just stupid.

it's worth the watch

There was also a little peen shown for the ladies, which I appreciated. If there's going to be T&A, at least make it from both genders!!

I liked the vomit scene. And Madeline's eldest daughter was annoying the F out of me. If I had a teenager, I would hope I wouldn't let her storm off at her own whim as often as she's allowed.

HBO said it'll start in June but didn't say when. And I saw last night that Meryl Streep will be playing Perry's mother.

I watched it with my wife and we both really enjoyed it- but reading this thread I can't remember anything that happened! Definitely need a refresher before season 2 - we are looking forward to it.

Also, a really good soundtrack to put on Spotify!

People stay together, especially for kids, all the time. And the man in this relationship seemed to enjoy his role in the marriage which doesn't seem uncommon in abusive relationships.

As for the ending. I was somewhat confused by it as well. But I didn't think it was stupid at all. I just think they've left some of it up for interpretation, and we'll get more in season 2.

Mostly agree with Urban. I enjoyed season one, enough so to still watch season 2 and ignore how bad the ending was. My problem with the ending wasnt killing sarsgaard or the police investigation, but rather the "twist" where he was also the guy who raped shailene woodley's character.

I enjoyed. Obviously, the chances of the twist would be astronomically low. But it's entertainment.

The storylines, the drama, and the beautiful women make this series a great watch. It is one of my favorite TV series right now and one that I'm looking forward to the most this summer. I'd take it over Stranger Things 3 if I had to choose.

Chernobyl
Deadwood Movie
Big Little Lies
Stranger Things 3

What's better TV at the moment with GOT over?

Ready for Ozark to return.

Yeah, I'm super pumped for deadwood. With all the anticipation for GoT, I feel like it has come out of nowhere and is now just 1 week away!

Season 1 was alright, the actors were better than the story and the ending sets up for a lot of episodes in season two where you're asking yourself "What the hell is the problem?" Basically a lot of pseudo-conflict, not realistic conflict.

Just based upon the trailer I would hope Season Two is the last one and I probably won't watch unless it gets rave reviews.

Well it was based off a NYT best seller, followed the book very closely, and won a bunch of Emmys including Outstanding Series so many would disagree with you.

But to each their own.
