Behind the Curve, a Flat Earth doc, popped up on Netflix this weekend and I decided what the hell. After a nearly 5 hour Joe Rogan podcast with Alex Jones it seemed like the right time.

Its pretty amazing. You get an indepth look at some of the higher profile flat earthers and their community.

Anyone else had a chance to check this out?

I dont want to give away too much but the ending is fantastic.

Had a "wtf" moment from this thread title flashing back to the Clint Eastwood/Justin Timberlake/Amy Adams movie that was legit the worst movie I've ever paid money to see in my life.

I've seen it and it's awesome, but I have to wonder if the creators of this doc and other programs that aren't actually produced or owned by Netflix get irritated when they're called a Netflix doc or TV show.

I loved the ones that designed scientific experiments to prove the earth was flat. They seemed more reasonable than the rest but still crazy.

I wish it had more debunking. but it was entertaining to kind of see their line of thinking. and how much they miss and also persuade themselves into not believing.

Mark Sargent even admits toward the end they even if he wanted to leave and denounce flat earth, he couldn't. He would never be taken serious by anyone outside because he's always been a conspiracy theory guy, and now all of his besties would hate him.

That doc proves over and over again that flat earth and the community of believers are nothing more than a religion.

"community of believers" is a good term. what they believe isn't so important. it's that they do believe.

I haven't watched the whole thing yet but... what is their argument against the flight from Hawaii to Japan? If you take their theory you would have to fly over the US, Europe, and Russia to get from Hawaii to Japan.

Alright...I shouldn't even try to rationalize.

I watched it and felt WAY better about myself!

Just is my career field alone (atmospheric science) there are so many examples of a rotating frame of reference! I would never argue with these fools...but I would mock them!

Did anyone catch the flat earther posting this morning? He was going on about how untrue this documentary is and how wronged that one guy in the movie who refused to be interviewed. The posts were quickly flagged and deleted.
