When we catch pancreatic cancer, it's like a punch in the gut because we have to go in that room and tell people that the percentages are so damn low. ****cancer

The odds of survival keep improving. A neighbor's sister was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer almost 18 months ago, she is doing well now.

She was treated at MD Anderson.

I think of Patrick Swayze whenever I read about this cancer and stage at the same time. I will pray for Alex Trebek.

How awful. I do know someone personally who beat pancreatic cancer, but it was an ugly fight and even the doctors were surprised she survived. God bless him!

A fellow Aggie I used to know was on Jeopardy, actually won several days. Had nothing but nice things to say about Trebek.

Oh, and **** cancer. Pancreatic cancer is the one that really scares me, because it is a silent killer, that is only survivable if caught very early, which only happens by happenstance.

If/when Trebek dies I expect it to hit me much like Peter Jennings. Two people that were seemingly in my living room growing up every day/night. And neither have ever been in my kitchen.

This hit me in the gut when I read this earlier today. I pray he beats it. Pancreatic cancer took my grandfather when he was 52 and my TAMU roommate's mom when we were sophomores. I thought this was worth sharing.
