you would not get points on anyone that lived though. it's not just points for correctly predicting they die... but correctly predicting either D or L.

so you have to assume more will die then will live or this does not work in your favor. still someone correctly predicting most of the Deaths and most of the Lives would surely outscore you as well.

I think every death has to have a purpose, either to fulfill a necessity in the character arc and/or for the dramatic effect on the viewer. IMO.....

Dany- L - will not die during the battle will later, fulfills prophecy, can't have her sit out three entire episodes
Jon - L - for above reasons although I don't think he dies later
Sansa - L - suffered too much to kill her now
Bran - D - I used to think he makes but now I think the BoW will signal the end of this era of magic
Arya - L - same as Sansa
Jorah - D - fulfills redemption arc
Brienne - L - see no purpose in her death, still has to hook up with Jamie
Podrick - D - dramatic effect on the viewer as it will devastate Brienne
Varys - L - see no purpose in his death and really see him back in the court at KL when it's all said and done
Davos - L - will return to his wife, see no purpose in his death
Sam - L - no purpose in his death, audience would hate it
Jamie - L - dies at KL
The Hound - D - I'm 50/50 on this one but maybe he dies saving Arya
Grey Worm - D - dramatic effect as it will devastate Missandie
Gendry - L - death serves no purpose, rides off in to the sunset with Arya
Theon - D - fulfills redemption arc
Tyrion - L - for now, has to be at KL
Missandei - L - don't think they'll kill that much of Dany's inner circle, plus death holds no purpose
Tormund - L - fan favorite, will be with Jon to the end
Edd - D - symbolizes the end of the NW
