Lost, didn't answer enough questions. Stupid premise at the end

BattleStar Galatica, First 2 seasons were some of the best Sci-Fi TV ever. Writing after that was bad, ending was stupid. I couldn't watch Caprica after it and that show lasted 1 season.

How I met your mother. DUH.

GoT I will still read the books if they come out. I will not watch any prequels at this point mainly because I am not turning on an HBO subscription for that.

Others??

Sopranos easy. They didn't have the balls to make an ending. So, they did nothing.

I already know people are going to say Seinfeld. But, i am in the minority and think Seinfeld's ending was perfectly in line with the show about nothing.

Seinfeld - all-time favorite comedy, left a bad taste in my mouth with that clunker of an ending.

I was okay with HIMYM.

Dexter was pretty bad but that was downhill for 3-4 seasons after trinity.

I could say homeland mostly because I just stopped watching it after one of the terrible recent seasons with quill dying. Don't care how it ended after that.

Disagree on Seinfeld. I didnt like it at first but it grew on me.

Not sure it counts but SOA was the greatest just because it was so ****ing terrible and ham fisted.

Dexter and Lost. The endings were really bad but it was made worse by how into both shows I was at some point before that.

On Sopranos they ended with Tony dying. I don't have a problem with it.

Friends had a pretty bad ending in my opinion as well as Lost and The Sopranos. I'll throw in Gossip Girl too even though I found myself satisfied with that ending.

Stopped watching Dexter after a couple seasons recently since it was taking everything overboard.

King of the Hill had a great ending and I liked Justified and HIMYM.

Dexter, Seinfeld and Roseanne are the worst that I've seen. I liked The Sopranos finale and thought Lost and BSG were meh.

HIMYM. If they had ended it 5 minutes earlier, then it would have been great. The last 5 minutes of the series finale ruined the series.

I dont mind Sopranos because the episode prior they show the memory of him with his BIL on the boat and they are talking about when you get killed "do you hear it?" The final scene of the show is Journey playing then silence in the middle of the song. We dont get the "pornography" of the violence of seeing a bullet or the shooter, but we do get the resolution of "Tony dies". I think the hardest part is people wanting to know if his family gets hit at the table? does the NJ crew fight on? etc etc...

At least the Seinfeld finale gave us this character one last time.

Deadwood has a rough ending because it just ends. I guess we'll see if this upcoming film will tie a nice bow on things.

I've heard it said that the S3 ending isn't a bad way to end a season, but it's a terrible way to end a series.

Seinfeld is my favorite comedy of all time. The last 2-3 seasons sucked, after Larry David left.

I've warmed to the Sopranos ending over time, didn't like it at first.

Lost was horrible. The entire final season was just a gigantic fail.

I didnt mind the ending of Battlestar or Lost as much as some did. I didn't love them, but with Battlestar they closed it out and wrapped it up with a bow, which is better than can be said for many sci-fi series. With Lost, I had given up my expectations for answers and explanations for stuff and just enjoyed the characters for who they were. That definitely opens the show up for a crapload of other criticisms, but the ending didnt sting as much because of it. In general I still love the show but totally get why some people hate it and never want to watch it again.

Now HIMYM? I can't ever watch another episode again without yelling at the TV how much the ending sucked.

they introduced Ted meeting the mother then gave her some illness and killed her off 5 minutes later, and the kids convice Ted to go after Robin since she divorced Barney quickly after they spend a whole season at Robin & Barney's wedding. They basically knock down everything they set up. It doesn't matter though, Victoria should have been the mother anyway, she was the best.

As for the Firefly->Serenity comment, how do Reavers clean their spears? They send them through the Wash.

Wasn't just the ending. The premise of the show was excellent but a lot of the execution was poor. Most of the episodes reflected that (good concept, poor execution). I get the whole: "I told you so much about robin instead of your mom so I can get your permission to ask her out". I get it. But just ending the show with ted meeting her at the train station and him (BOB SAGET!) telling the kids "that's how i met your mother" would have been millions times better. Hell, the stripper ending up being the mom would have been better.

How was Firefly ruined? It was truncated that's all. Or you mean ruined by the movie? I didn't think so either loved tha movie - you got the Jane song for one thing, but I liked a lot of that movie.

Seinfeld had the same problem as GoT - impossible to please your viewership in the finale.

I can't even imagine Lost being on in the modern world of discussion boards and social media. At least GoT had some source material to fall back on.

I loved BSG start to finish. The only TV drama I rank above it is The Shield, which had a brutal, heart-wrenching end.

The greatest finale ever is Justice League Unlimited although how a cartoon can so perfectly grasp the essence of Lex Luthor, Superman, and the Superman-Batman dynamic while no movie can do even one of those things is beyond me.

HIMYM had a concept that Robin was the go to girl at then end the whole time but the creators had no idea how long it would last. If it had only made one season Victoria would have been the mom.
The problem was it dragged on tooooooo long. The last couple of seasons sans an episode or two were unwatchable compared to the first four. And the last season made the finale a bad ending IMO. Having the mom die was understandable but having the Barney Robin thing as a major central part of the shows last few seasons ruined the initial concept.
The first four seasons I would put up with many of the iconic sitcoms but the last few seasons kinda took any strong legacy and diminished it

now, this maybe true. but, the reality is the final 2 seasons have been utter crap and this season especially because of a self imposed episode limit.

Seinfeld is my favorite sitcom of all time, seen every episode no fewer than 30 times, some probably close to 100. Grew up watching all the re-runs as a kid on Fox/TBS.

There was nothing wrong with that finale. It's a sitcom. They basically did callbacks to all the characters that made the show so great. It wasn't the best finale but not bad & definitely not horrible.

LOST even wasn't that bad.

The only one I truly think was just awful was Dexter. Yes the show had already gone off the rails but that was just a horrific finale. Hoping GoT doesn't do the same even though imo they have gone off the rails too.

I started watching BSG this last month because it was one I didn't watch at the time.

I just cannot understand why people think this was a good show.

Just really bad. Complete change of premises of everything set up in first season. You could really tell this was a case of the writers just making **** up as they went.

Caprica 6 freaking snapped a baby's neck in the beginning... and then later she's a fully empathetic person to the humans.

And seriously, all the dumb relationship sub-plots involving Lee, Starbuck, Dualla, Anders, the boomers, athenas, Helo, the chief... you could tell this was written by nerds who never kissed a girl before.

I'm open to hearing good debate points of why people thought it was good.

Ditto.... I tried...I really tried. Did not like it much at all. Could not get through it.

I assume it was just the dearth of sci-fi at the time on TV and it was the only thing.
