I started watching BSG this last month because it was one I didn't watch at the time.

I just cannot understand why people think this was a good show.

Just really bad. Complete change of premises of everything set up in first season. You could really tell this was a case of the writers just making **** up as they went.

Caprica 6 freaking snapped a baby's neck in the beginning... and then later she's a fully empathetic person to the humans.

And seriously, all the dumb relationship sub-plots involving Lee, Starbuck, Dualla, Anders, the boomers, athenas, Helo, the chief... you could tell this was written by nerds who never kissed a girl before.

I'm open to hearing good debate points of why people thought it was good.

Ditto.... I tried...I really tried. Did not like it much at all. Could not get through it.

I assume it as just the dearth of sci-fi at the time on TV and it was the only thing.

That's my thought as well. It was all they had ... kind of like the people that liked Farscape.

That's a major slight to GoT & LOST to even have Dexter up there. At the end of the day, once Rita and those tits left the show nobody gave a **** about it. Lithgow gave us brief hope but that was it.

I think the first three seasons of BSG are amazing. Season 4 fell quite a bit though.

Kinda hard to have a serious conversation with someone who still thinks like this. Maybe try one of the numerous NCIS shows that have no character depth?

To be fair, I liked LOST's finale and have mostly enjoyed GoT's final season so far.

Never watched Dexter. Just found the image funny.

SOA was bad after the Ireland season. I wasn't expecting a great finale but the show just continued downward and the ending was terrible.

HIMYM I watched on and off. I agree with the poster on page 1 who just said the last few minutes is what made it bad. If not for that it would have been decent.

HIMYM was the first to come to mind

Wasn't really a fan of the was Weeds ended, or any of the last few seasons for that matter

The Gilmore Girls reboot had a pretty terrible ending if they stop it there and don't do a second revival season

HIMYM had a concept that Robin was the go to girl at then end the whole time but the creators had no idea how long it would last. If it had only made one season Victoria would have been the mom.
The problem was it dragged on tooooooo long. The last couple of seasons sans an episode or two were unwatchable compared to the first four. And the last season made the finale a bad ending IMO. Having the mom die was understandable but having the Barney Robin thing as a major central part of the shows last few seasons ruined the initial concept.
The first four seasons I would put up with many of the iconic sitcoms but the last few seasons kinda took any strong legacy and diminished it
Totally agree with this. It's like the writers had no clue how many seasons they were going to have. They kept writing each season with an ending in mind and when they got extended for another season they would go in a different direction. By the time they got past Season 4-5, the train was so far off the rails it was hard to bring it all back together.

They should go out like old school shows and just stop making them. How many people are still watching it anyway?

Firefly...Serenity

I dont mind Sopranos because the episode prior they show the memory of him with his BIL on the boat and they are talking about when you get killed "do you hear it?" The final scene of the show is Journey playing then silence in the middle of the song. We dont get the "pornography" of the violence of seeing a bullet or the shooter, but we do get the resolution of "Tony dies". I think the hardest part is people wanting to know if his family gets hit at the table? does the NJ crew fight on? etc etc...
How was Firefly ruined? It was truncated that's all. Or you mean ruined by the movie? I didn't think so either loved tha movie - you got the Jane song for one thing, but I liked a lot of that movie.

The Message was their "goodbye" and it is focused on a soldier from the war.

Then the fans piss and moan to get a film. They get an opportunity to make an actual ending and the film kills off major characters. No fan service whatsoever.

Sopranos was definitely a let down at the end. I couldn't finish the show Weeds. In my opinion The Spartacus series on starz was one of the best start to finish.

The entire last season of house of cards was terrible. Should have ended the season before we learned of Kevin Spacey's bad behavior.

I liked Farscape and BSG both, and actually have enjoyed Farscape more as I've gotten older and BSG a little less. The complexity and desperation of BSG was pretty good and done well at times, and Dualla along with the mutiny that happened are the antithesis of what you could call as falling into the bottomless pit of desperation and depression trying to just find a way out and hope.

Things changed a lot for the Cylons when the resurrection ship was destroyed, and you could say that with only one life to live they begun to see why humans were the way they were.

Part of the problem the show ran into was the writers strike that happened, which was felt in the last season. Though I did feel that the whole "Who's a Cylon?!" plot line that happened with the final five lasted longer than it should have and was not done all that well.

But Bear McCreary turned in some fantastic work for the soundtrack on the show.

Don't bother, it doesn't get any better. It's almost like they tried to make it as bad as they possibly could instead of trying to work around the loss of spacey. Should have just canceled it instead.

Seinfeld is my favorite sitcom of all time, seen every episode no fewer than 30 times, some probably close to 100. Grew up watching all the re-runs as a kid.

Why on God's green earth would you do this when you could have had a least four girlfriends and been banging multiple girls on the side? I'm completely baffled as to this dedication to wasting so much time on one show...

He did actually - and I loved the finale - but he didn't maybe make it obvious enough maybe. Give me the same exact everything but a look of horror on Carmela's (or Meadow's) face from Tony's perspective and then black.

And then he was ambiguous about it for a while and then backtracked about what it meant (hoping for a movie I think) and he didn't help with that stuff.

But it was all there in the Homecoming episode and so many other foreshadowings. And artistically the ominous signs everywhere in the finale. It was freaking perfect. But just a tad too unclear. It was a gamble.

I'm okay with that. Just a bit more clear. I know that Tony dies, that's evident but it took several articles and interviews to understand that's what how he ended it. However, watching it live, for me, was the f you moment.

Watched the first season, was disappointed. Made it two or three episodes in for the second season and just wrote it off. As someone who grew up on TNG, DS9, VOY, TOS reruns, and the movies I found that Discovery just didn't have the same feel/soul that its predecessors did.

Now, Altered Carbon on the other hand I would recommend pushing through to the finish.

Ah, I got ya. To be fair, my main problem with the early episodes is that there's a lot of world building/setting stuff that happens that you have an appreciation for later on and some of it isn't really explained that well either imo.

Wasn't a huge How I Met Your Mother fan, but watched enough in reruns to like the show. The finale was odd in that it tried to basically wrap up everything that they had spent years getting to in about 5 minutes. I also found it odd how the kids basically discarded their dead mother for Robin at the drop of a dime.
