Ah that's good bad. True pioneer / primary source artist. He played a lot of live shows over the past few years and remained active in the Texas psych scene.

Hopefully you got to see him. And if not, he left behind some great music including those first 2 elevators records which are in my mind masterpieces.

The documentary "you're gonna miss me" was interesting and sad. I don't understand mental illness and I don't know how much the acid attributed to or just magnified his condition.

The debut album has its moments. I think with a good producer and manager they had potential but they were not able to follow up and expand the success of the debut album.

I never got to see him but the legacy he and the Elevators left behind will last forever. Austin music is what it is because of those guys
