We got hacked last week - someone stole Thom's minidisk archive from around the time of OK Computer, and reportedly demanded $150,000 on threat of releasing it.

So instead of complaining - much - or ignoring it, we're releasing all 18 hours on Bandcamp in aid of Extinction Rebellion: https://radiohead.bandcamp.com

Just for the next 18 days. So for 18 you can find out if we should have paid that ransom.

Never intended for public consumption (though some clips did reach the cassette in the OK Computer reissue) it's only tangentially interesting. And very, very long. Not a phone download. Rainy out, isn't it though?

There are some good finds on there. This Google doc gives a good breakdown of each Minidisc.

The only thing that seems like it would excite me less is 18 hours of unreleased Enya b-sides.

Radiohead is great. But I've heard enough of some of the filler that made their albums to know that I don't want to hear what didn't.

I also feel bad for them. That's 18 hours of potential concepts, riffs, themes, tempos, and lyrics that would have likely inspired a ton of songs in the future. Now that it's out there, it's like having your bank account get down to $1,000. There's still some in there, but not enough to do anything with.

Ok Computer came out 22 years ago. I guarantee the band is not still going back to that well for song inspiration

HA, so no $$$ for the hacker. I guess you could say that he got busted by the...
karma police.

Some of this stuff is pretty good. There is definitely a 30 min album worth of stuff in the 18 hours.

Guarantee? The last album had a song on it that was written around 1995 and finally saw a studio release. Just saying is all.
