Anyone watching this? Crime/corruption drama set in Boston early 90's.

2 episodes are out so far. The pilot is one of the strongest pilots I've seen recently. I'm in.

I'm in too. I wish I could binge watch this. What's funny is other cable networks airing The Town and Mystic River since it's debut. Kevin Bacon as a piece of crap is awesome.

Although the shooting in the church has thrown me off. Black on black crime I get, but was that necessary? The Caulkin character makes me want to throw him out of a car.

yeah that got a little...serious. But I think it was just to emphasize the next scene at the community meeting that shows Ward truly doesn't belong on either side (which he later says).

I'm also enjoying the series. Seems I've gotten spoiled by the Amazon/Netflix season drops. So, we're supposed to wait a week until we can watch an additional episode? This injustice will not stand!

We get Showtime via AT&T Uverse - would I be able to go back and watch previous episodes on demand?

I don't get it! No love. Kevin Bacon as a low life POS is great TV. Is it The Wire? No. But it's great TV.

Great episode tonight! I can't believe it took me this long to realize it's a "Ladies of Law and Order" reunion. I'm still tripped up by last weeks episode and the medicine cabinet money being gone. What happened to it?

If any of you were fans of the NBC show Life several years ago (starred Damian Lewis), it took me a couple of episodes to realize the female investigator is Sarah Shahi (co-star on Life as well as in Person of Interest).

In any case, I've loved this show so far. Fantastic.

Great ep. Love Nothing Else Matters to close.

Sarah Shahi is so pretty, even playing the fiesty Boston Latina.

And she's from Euless!

More random thoughts... I think I really enjoy this show because one episode a week is enough for me. It's a return to that great serial drama. It's just not conducive to binge watching imo, which is refreshing. I know the masses would rather watch an Ozark, and while I've (sorta) enjoyed that for what it is, I prefer a better quality show that is slower and more deliberate than a show that gets away with so much garbage because they just keep firing nonstop.

Still enjoying it, but I really don't get the armored car heist scene. Between the robbers just rolling up on the armored car with guns drawn while the "guards" are ALL inside of the armored car? WTF is this plan? And Rohr and squad rolling up at the perfect time? Seemed like half-assed writing.

DeCourcy, Hank & Rachel were done dealing with Jackie because they know he's dirty. They got Jimmy arrested for stealing the car, and then got during interrogation he basically wanted to get out of his prior **** by setting his crew up for the upcoming Armored car heist. He began working with them.

Jackie was trying to figure out what was going on and stumbled upon it, then used his FBI power (and his early 90's cell phone) to figure out where Hank & Rachel were at and what the operation was. He assumed he was being left out of the 'glory' so he brought in the cavalry of the FBI and made a big show out of it when it was initially going to be City police & Sheriff's office.

I get the whole context from the cop/FBI side and why everyone was there. I meant "what is the plan?" as far as the plan for 4 dip****s to roll up on a closed armored car (with all guards inside of it) with handguns. The cops didn't even have to play pretend guard. And I just thought it was kind of ridiculous to have Rohr's arrival time be so perfect.

I have to go back and re-watch it. But I think they were initially going to wait until they saw a driver/crew of the armored car come out of the liquor store. Then when the locals saw the FBI train coming down the road it all just turned into everyone jumping out and surrounding them.

Agree on the timing, but the moment you saw Jackie make that phone call asking their whereabouts, you knew that was the situation. Also, it's not too hard to think that he didn't just get a location, but he got the full scoop on what the operation was and when it was going down.

They hopped out of the dually and were just walking up on the closed armored car with their guns pointed at it, then everyone sees/hears the FBI caravan nearing, robbers high-tail it back to their truck to escape while then cops jump out.

Yep you're right. They did get out and then back in. Who knows on that part

And I'm not trying to drag on about it. It was just a huge scene that the entire season has been building toward, and there were a few key components that seemed like really lazy and convenient writing. Although I did enjoy the cop on the robbery crew that decided to handcuff himself. LOL.

I think last night was the finale. I liked it, though man they wrapped it up fast. I felt like now that we saw the ending, they could have slowed everything down from Jimmy flipping --> the heist --> finale last night could have been spread out across 1 or 2 additional episodes for an 11/12 ep season and that would have helped the concerns with pacing and how convenient things were.

Especially given the sort of 'update' style thing they do at the beginning. The finale all moved very fast in order to finish at 10 episodes.

Overall very happy with this show in its first season.
