In non-fiction, best book I've read in five or so years is "Shoot for the Moon" by James Donovan, a tremendous history of our space program, especially Apollo Eleven.

In fiction, just finished "The President Is Missing" by Bill Clinton and James Patterson. I never voted for Clinton, but have to admitt he wrote a hell of an action book, a real page turner.

Hope some of you Aggies will enjoy these two excellent books. Happy 4th of July!

If you enjoy historical non-fiction, The Making of the Atomic Bomb by Richard Rhodes is insanely long and detailed but also very good.

Another great book about the Apollo program is called A Man on the Moon. The author took years to interview the astronauts and ground crews, it gets very personal into their lives and their emotions during the 1960s and early '70s as well as what they have done with their lives since then. It focuses a little bit less on the technical aspects and more on the people.

Almost finished with "The Taking of K129".

About a Russian Sub who sank in 1968 in three miles of water and the subsequent CIA operation to recover it.

Interested in Shoot for the Moon, does it cover the whole space program up to the moon landing or does it focus mostly on Apollo 11?
