Sign me up. Kevin Smith was one of them nine reasons I became a movie nerd. I was the perfect age for Clerks, Chasin Amy, Dogma, etc. and will always have a soft b all for him. His most recent films have been unadulterated garbage, but I'm always in for more Jay and Silent Bob.

Smith's movie making ability tanked when he quit cigarettes and switched to pot. Seems like ever since he became a complete pothead his movies have gotten way worse in terms of plot and dialogue.

That being said, he is a fantastic storyteller in person and in his podcasts and his relentlessly good attitude is a breath of fresh air. He comes across as being a genuine nice guy that does not take himself seriously.

He isn't making movies about a walrus or evil Nazi gnomes or bringing back Jay and Silent Bob because he needs the money. He's actually doing very well with live shows and his podcast empire and has a big following outside of his films.

He's making these movies because he feels like making the movies and they make him happy. That's fine by me.

Smith told Jay that if he got sober he would make another movie with him. If making this movie led to Jay cleaning up his act then thats awesome.

Ill see it because like many of you I was the perfect age for Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy. Love this universe.

I still say "What the **** is the internet?" all the time. It's an all time quote in my opinion.


And Kevin Smith's movies are a complete joke now, but like Cactus Jack said, he's completely in on it, and he doesn't care. He just does what he wants cuz it makes him happy. I do love his podcasts and storytelling as well. I will probably try and see him when he brings Reboot to Texas live with Jason Mewes.
