Anybody started watching yet? Getting mediocre reviews. I love sci-fi though and can stomach pretty much anything...especially with Katee Sackhoff. Gonna start watching tonight.

I just sat through the "trailer" that plays when I load Netflix, and I have no idea what's going on. Was the actress actually leading me through the set in real life? Or is the premise of the show that the actors have to save the world (e.g., Galaxy Quest)?
And if it's the former, whose idea was it to have a "trailer" that is so radically different from all the other ones that Netflix shows? That person should be flogged.

Don't thank me yet...1 episode in and I might need alcohol to make it through the next one.

Started watching it last night but didn't finish the first episode. Couldn't really get into it. The preview was a little weird, like a behind the scenes walk-through.

Also has Justin Chatwin (Shameless, War of the Worlds) in it and normally can't stand him. Though he wasn't in many scenes by the time I gave up watching it.

It has a 4.2 on IMDB, which is beyond a bomb.

Then you missed the best part of the first episode!

Ok, we actually binged episodes 1-4 last night. We fired up Netflix to watch something else and saw the trailer and somehow my wife got intrigued simply because Selma Blair is in it. She apparently has MS and wife wanted to see how she performed in the show. Getting my wife to watch SciFi with me is rare, so I jumped at the chance even if it's not that great.

The pilot episode is weak and boring and looks low rent from a SFX perspective. However, episodes 2-4 are pretty good. We got into it and plan to finish the first season. So far, there really doesn't seem to be any sacred cow characters which is refreshing. It's laughable that some of these people would have been allowed on a deep space voyage considering their completely unstable psychology, but I can get over that for the sake of having some drama in a show. Also, all of the people in power are women. It's subtle but you will pick up on it the more you watch. I don't really care I just thought it was interesting once it hit me.

One other random tidbit is that I'm watching two series right now and both are Katie Sackoff shows - this one and Longmire. Granted she's older now but she looks severe in this show. She's either had something done with her mouth or she is so in shape now that the lack of body fat is making her very severe and angular looking. Her mouth is huge.

I watched the pilot episode the other day. I was 50/50 on continuing. I guess I'll give it another episode.

I watched the first 10 minutes and the special effects were so bad I couldn't finish.

Just watched episode 5. This show has the dumbest scientists that have ever graced tv. Oh, hey, we found a planet that looks like earth so we will visit with no precautions and just start eating local fauna.

Maybe if there were was one single white guy that wasn't portrayed as a complete clown, immature, or evil then maybe this crew wouldn't be so incompetent. My wife is hooked so we will watch but pissed my sci-fi wad got blown on this trash.

It was pretty bad but I made it through the whole season. Second half was better than the first...but there's just so much bad I don't even know where to start. It's a series with a serious identity crisis (in more ways than one...or two...or three).

Pass unless you just have to see everything out there scifi.

I couldn't make it through the 2nd episode...

I love almost anything set in space but this show was low budget garbage. Bad writers; bad director of episode 1.


And If you got only have $3000 for a film budget don't spend it being woke.


I'm glad this is getting bad reviews.

Yeah, the wokeness of this show is laughably bad. It should convince the viewer that social justice is horribly incompatible with science.

I just binged it this last weekend it was very good pretty progressive but once you look past that it's a really good series

Watched the first two episodes and was completely distracted by the guy-wanting-to-be-a-girl person. WTF. I understand this is sci-fi, but when you are shooting halfway across the known universe, in a vacuum, you'd think they'd throw together a crew that was psychologically strong and had the least amount of possible drama. You don't put on makeup in space to look like a woman. Bigger issues at stake. It's about the mission, not about you. And the 2nd in command got killed off in short order. Target isn't the said target; target is a prolonged death for everyone, at least in this series.

I'm actually enjoying this show. It's not the greatest ever, but it's entertaining me.

Finished it, and still enjoyed it. I would watch a second season. My only gripe is if someone is trying to blow up your ship, don't run away, hit him with the axe!

Distinction without a difference. Both highlighted a character "put on make up" in a very violent backdrop.

Found myself rooting for the aliens by the end of Season 1.

If the crew in that show's universe was the best humanity had to offer, then the human race has no business surviving.

Agreed. I've said my peace, but I still can't get over how inept and how diametrically opposed to the normal mental and psychological profile needed for a mission like this. And, yet, they opt for a bunch of slapd^cks who think and act like high schoolers.

And then the badass Captain who is clinical in her decision making when it comes to choosing mission over all else gets a blatantly easy opportunity to kill the bad guy and save her crew and mission and doesn't do it.

Freaking stupid. I would watch season two if I knew there was a chance humanity gets obliterated, but we know the background here and that won't happen.

Morbid curiosity and seeing that it got a second season had me watch it.
Episode 1 was bad, but it did get progressively better, especially after Michelle was offed, holy heavens she was a annoying By the end I was quite enjoying it.
I think it was that my expectations were so low that anything would have seemed good, because there were so many obvious flaws in it. But under that there was a decent overarching plot, and they did a good job of hooks to end each episode.

Just finished S1. The acting is...oof...and there's so many things that require a suspension of disbelief beyond what one would think...but I'm a sucker for the overall plot line (loved Contact and that Science Channel mini-series that featured first contact but can't recall the title)....so I'm all in for another season.

finally watched this, had been putting it off due to the bad reviews. while it is certainly flawed, i actually enjoyed it, and glad they're making a season 2. started off as 'stereotypical millenials', but i thought the many of the characters matured and grew nicely as the season progressed.

Still hoping the aliens obliterate humanity in season 2.

so far the aliens seem quite powerful compared to humanity. they'd better not turn to tissue paper in an episode to fit the needs of the writers/episode time constraints.

also, in season one finale, i was really hoping they'd run into a cylon on the planet, lol
