Yeah man. The sequel was announced last year sometime I think. All original cast. No story line given though

I was in college in the 70's and watched it from '75 to the mid eighties. Saturday night with Murphy was great! I believe the Weekend Update with Gumby was largely a Murphy ad lib. Now if only they could get Ackroyd and Curtain to reprise "Jane, you ignorant ****" and Chase etc. to come back as hosts ....

Gumby was definitely improv. I'm curious if there younger generation got it, since they probably haven't seen the original sketches.

I loved it when he shot "I'm staying" when they cut back to the scripted bits. Never really tied it in that Gumby=old jewish guy from Coming to America.
