I thought this season was the weakest we've had. It's still some of the best TV made, but not on par with the others. Overall, it felt dis-jointed and didn't draw me in until episode 5. Oh, it's the enemy, no, let's partner, over and over.
Regarding the finale, it had to be Michael. I don't think the betting partner could have helped, even though that was obviously where they were going. It was too well planned for a last minute save, especially with the timing of the sniper's murder and others ready to go. If he made a call and they did all that, that is some lazy ass writing.
I think Michael's Plan B and unrelated to the guy fixing the matches makes a lot of sense though. Guess we will see where this goes.
Overall, the season felt like a filler to avoid ending the show, similar to the end of the Soprano's.
