I should have said 2 MAIN reasons. Going to the concert was a social event, sure, and keep in mind, we're not talking best and brightest here. And yes, on more than one occasion, I heard more about drugs scored the day after than what the band did. That would square with the number of people I saw stoned at the concerts I went to (not to mention the weed I smelled in the air). Since I wasn't really into the drug scene, maybe it was easier and cheaper to get stuff there -- and maybe get a free sample. Who knows.

Yeah or maybe you just missed the point and then made up 2 ridiculous scenarios. Concerts aren't a place to buy/sell drugs. They are a place to do drugs (if that's your scene).

Just got back from Boot Fest, and seeing the Atomic Punks.

Props to these guys, as they do a really good job. They don't try and portray themselves as VH, they play tribute to them in the early days. All pre Hagar, which I thought in a small town like Victoria, would fall on deaf ears. I was wrong. The crowd really got into it.

The band was good, the look was good, no flabby garage style stuff. It was VH fun. A lot of folks had seen them back then, but most knew some of the songs from back then, and really got into the whole thing.

If you ever get a chance to see The Atomic Punks, it is worth the time.

Who know that many 50-70 yo white dudes wanted this relic of the early 80s back!

Now, rumors are being spread, and in most articles confirmed that Eddie's tongue cancer has spread to his throat. Evidently, they have been scraping the cancer cells out of this throat for years when they developed.

Eddie may have and probably is the reason we have long suffered as original VH fans, but if this is true, that sucks for Eddie, and the original VH fans on here.

The original VH had the chance to be the biggest Rock band of all time, rivaled only by Zep or Floyd. Think about that. Only by Zep or Floyd. And attitudes got in the way.

I remember, we (a bunch of buddies) were so stoked that we were going to go see VH when they went on the tour after 1984, cause we were ONE year from being old enough on that tour. Then, one day after a nap, hearing on C101 in Victoria (we got that certain times of the day) hearing the DJ breaking the news that Diamond Dave was leaving VH. I just woke of from then nap to hear that, and thinking "Fuuuuu"..and you know the rest of that word.

It was a monumental shift in rock to us.

No matter, I hope Eddie beats this,

That being said, Eddie, you are as only as good as your support, as good as you think you are.. And you are good.

So, Roth can't hit those notes anymore so how good would they really be? I bet it would be a massive disappointment if they were to actually perform.
