That's actually kind of a good story. An entertainment journalist who is a View Askew fan was interviewing Affleck and asked if he was going to be in the reboot, he said "No, but I'm available" and the journalist relayed that to Smith who finally contacted him after being encouraged by many people around him.

My thought is that the movie starts with execs at Amazon running into Jay and Silent Bob randomly and it goes poorly with them just talking a lot of **** to Jay and Silent Bob (JaSB). They go over to see Brodie who's single now. They make him an online profile to get some snoochie snooch. He gets no hits and no matches. JaSB try to hack into the site after smoking magic weed that ends up bringing them into the internet where they can now do their mallrat shtick and hang out on the webs at Amazon and duck their **** up (getting back at them for the earlier mishap) and try to avoid the security program played by John McAfee as himself itrying to kill them a la Running Man type scenarios.
