I've gotten jaded in my old age. The football ones are just so cheesy to me now. They all have to have elbow to the head, flip tackles on every play, airborne defensive linemen, ankle breaking cutbacks on every run, etc.

It is SO hard to make a realistic sports movie. Seemingly every single athletic scene has to be amped up to an 11.

Pedro had a decent swing. Vaughn looks like he actually pitched before. Everyone else looked like actors trying to play sports.

You know, the sound the ball makes when it hits the bat? It was like music to me. You know, the smell of the grass . . . it was first unnecessary thing I ever done in my life and I fell in love. I didn't know the unnecessary could feel so good. You know, the game was meaningless but it seemed to mean everything to me. It was useless, but perfect.

When I got my first DVD player, I bought 2 movies to start my collection:

Hoosiers
Rudy

Both have endings that even to this day (like 2 minutes ago when I watched the Rudy ending in this thread), make the room a little dusty.

Come to think of it, the first time he runs out to the field does too

"Avoid the clap" - Jimmy Duggon

Pitcher/Catcher dynamic in Bull Durham was so great. The mound visits are some of my favorites.

For Love of the Game, hard to choose between all the great scenes.

I'll pretty much see any Kevin Costner baseball movie -- don't care if it's about dogs playing wiffleball
