I agree. Back in the day I saw them play the same venue in Dallas and I don't recall it being anywhere close to being full.

Thanks for the insight! On Live Nation for Woodlands the good seats are a smidge over $100 (before the crazy fees). I'll gamble and wait until closer to show time.tommyjohn said:
come spring they will be giving tickets away to this. The venues are way too big.
When they played The Woodlands in 2005/06 the place was maybe 1/3rd full. when they quit 6 yrs ago they were playing the HOB circuit but now 6 yrs later they jump to 15k person amphitheaters.
I will be there and happy about it but will wait until the last minute to buy tickets. No was I am shelling out $200 for good tickets this far out.
There has to be. Old ass metal shows are often free at Warehouse Live in Houston, which I think is a LiveNation venue. They've reduced their capacity, and it's still more than enough room for bands that might be more fun in independent venues, but I guess they have to fill that calendar and bring in people to sell drinks to.Quote:
There is a surplus of venues now so you're seeing promoters (LiveNation) stick acts that should be in smaller venues in larger ones because they have to fill out a calendar.
Korn and AIC I thought was a random combo.. But it got them into basketball arenas, where as when AIC comes on their own, it's a theaters. (Which I much prefer over arenas)Proposition Joe said:
It's also why you're seeing these ridiculous act combos. They know Blink 182 touring again isn't going to fill a pavilion... But you make it Blink + Lil Wayne and it might. Ditto the current Modest Mouse and Black Keys tour.
So you ultimately end up with two different fanbases both paying money to see a show that they really only want to see one of the acts. I was interested in seeing Modest Mouse this tour, but I don't care enough about the Black Keys to pay those prices. And from everything I've read it's made for a really lifeless show... Black Keys fans not really going to get up and jam for Modest Mouse, and Modest Mouse fans are bored during BK sets.
i just assume that's how every live event in philly isjohnnyblaze36 said:
The brothers acoustic show in Philly seemed to have gone well:

Will expect a review. I saw them at the Cactus Cafe at UT like '06. Strange to see them in such a small venue. Like the plugged-in Crowes better.Junkhead said:
That's how most events are period these days. Bunch of rude mother****ers that feel their conversation is more important than the music. I've had multiple confrontations with people at acoustic shows that won't shut the **** up. Hope it doesn't happen Saturday when I see Chris & Rich in Austin.
For the acoustic show or the full band tour?T Durden said:
So what are tickets going for right now for Texas venues?
They were supposed to do 2 shows per night on back to back nights there. Somehow I snagged tickets to both shows on the first night and then they proceeded to move those two to a bigger venue and left the next night at the Cactus Cafe. I was not happy about that but both shows were fantastic.Aust Ag said:Will expect a review. I saw them at the Cactus Cafe at UT like '06. Strange to see them in such a small venue.
