I think he has done a decent job and enjoy his character except it seems more rushed since he doesn't get involved until later in their season

Enjoyed the first season

Funished last night. I enjoyed it. But the Bear fight was a major let down compared to both the book and the movie

same place as in the show so near the end of The Golden Compass.

Finished up the season today. I think most all of the cast was a grand slam. I don't have a problem with Scoresby, but he was the weakest link.

Really hope this series get completed because it did broach some interesting philosophical questions if you can remember this is just fiction.

One thing that I caught was Will was stated as being 15. Homedude def already went through puberty. I guess the show will pretend he hasn't.

Other than that, really enjoying this show despite knowing nothing about the source. I remember hearing the hoopla around The Golden Compass but never saw it. May have to watch it when this season is over.

It's not just you. He's horrible

I enjoyed season one, never read the books. But even though I like it so far I don't totally get what's happening. I would have liked a bit more exposition. It just was like in every episode there's some key background information that would have been beneficial to people like me with no prior experience in the story. It just felt like I was entering this story in the second act. Will definitely give a second season a chance regardless of feeling lost at times.

Finished up the season over the weekend and I'd tend to agree. I really enjoyed it overall, but in a few spots there seemed to be some implied things that weren't quite clear to the viewing audience.

Daphne Keen is fantastic in the lead though and the cast overall is great (and LMM doesn't bother me as much as others here), looking forward to s2. I also want to go back and watch the movie, I've seen it but it's been a while and I'm curious how it lines up with the show.

Wife and I just started this. We know nothing of the source material. Really enjoying it. Haven't noticed an atheist angle yet, and likely won't let it take away from my enjoyment of the show.

Season 2 started last night. It was filmed at the same time as the first, so it was unaffected by covid.

Only started this a few weeks ago and am one episode from being caught up.
I really enjoy it, surprised at how much depth there is to it, both in terms of plot and symbolism.
Certainly not for everyone, but surprised it hasn't gotten more play here.

Thanks. I haven't read the books but I generally like fantasy/sci-fi stuff, so was curious, especially since it's on HBO.

I only read the first book but I didn't care for how the series jumped across worlds in the first season. I wish they had spent more time world building in the original world to lay a better foundation for the magisterium, witches and other factions

Bump: season 3 premier tonight

I'm optimistic. This has been a pretty good show. Hoping the final season is rocks.

Season two wasn't bad persay but it also wasn't very super engaging. Will see how 3 turns out.
