Long story short, it was fantastic, and super funny, particularly Olaf and my main man Kristoff, who had the most unbelievable musical sequence of any animated movie ever made.

If you have daughters, I can't recommend it enough, for lessons about individuality and doing the right thing even when you feel like nothing's going your way.

And for all the kids who were 6-8 when Frozen came out in 2013 and are now tweens/teens, they somehow got Panic at the Disco and Weezer to sing the songs on the end credits.

[We have cleaned up a bunch of this thread and if we have to remove another derailing or insulting post, we are going to hand out at least a week long ban with it. There will be no email discussion or reduction of the ban if that happens. If any poster happened to have a post accidentally removed that wasn't warranted during this massive cleanup. Well, sorry. -Staff]

My five year old loved it. My 11 yo twin boys were laughing throughout too, but would never admit to liking it

We listened to the sound track on Sunday and when kristoffs song came on I told my wife it sounded like a journey song or something, nailed it.

A little predictable, but enjoyed it.

I thought it was Peter Cetera straight out of Karate Kid! Good song though.

My girls were 3 when they saw it on DVD in 2015. They are twins and firmly established who was Elsa and who was Anna.

My 3 year old daughter is absolutely obsessed with frozen 1. Good for her to see 2?

Compared to the original I think its a bit more intense and deals with matters like death, loss, and grief more head-on. I watched it with a 5-year old niece and while she wound up loving it she also cried during it and called it scary at certain parts.

So hard to say how your 3 year old would handle it.

Just saw it. Very good. Much better than I expected. Didn't think I'd like as much as the first one but it stands on its own.

It did touch on some of the stuff mentioned but wasn't heavy-handed. Songs not as catchy but using same chords and tones so some familiarity.

Many of you way overthinking it.

My 3-year-old was pretty sad and didn't like how intense it was for a little while. It's Disney. It ended happy enough. if you want to get political there is definitely an anti-colonialism vibe. But if you're not looking for it you're going to just see a kids musical with a superpower queen. Had a very Avatar (Airbender cartoon, not the crappy movie) vibe which I liked. The stacks seemed much higher this time around. The general thing that happens in sequals.

Saw it last night with my 8 & 10 year old girls. Political stuff was kind of discouraging but the girls just thought it was a good story.

You come to a Frozen 2 thread that never was on the board before on the day it opens and get mad about spoilers. FROZEN TWO!!!

Just went with my son (5) and daughter (3). Was good enough for a Disney movie. Both kids liked it.

Daughter who like Mucks, firmly established herself as Elsa, was also thoroughly upset when they announced Queen Anna at the end. It made for a fun discussion of stubbornness with her as we said we are going home to see her new little sister and introduce her as Queen.

It's a kids movie that is made by Disney. The message isn't a beat you over the head one. It makes fun of the previous movie. It is enjoyable. I'm as conservative as they come and this didn't irritate me one bit.

People don't change their political opinions based on watching a 90 minute children's movie.

If a movie makes a political point, why is it off limits to discuss the point? Is that not part of art? I'm fine with it being in film, but I think it is fair to criticize.

[Discussing is one thing, derailing is another thing and we are tired of having to clean up pages full of garbage that have nothing to do with the subject of the thread. That is going to stop or we are going to start handing out bans. -Staff]

Saw it last night at a later showing full of adults...maybe 2-3 kids in the theater and everyone really enjoyed it.

It was definitely funnier than I expected and while none of the songs really grabbed me initially (except Kristoff's epic sequence), I woke up this morning with a few ear worms.

I will say I was blown away by the animation. The ice in the first movie was incredible, but what they do with water and other elements in this one absolutely blew my mind. It's gorgeous.

That was why I checked the thread. Wanted to know how my three and four year old Frozen loving grandkids would react to it.

I'll echo what one or 2 others have said in that I do think this has some more intense & darker moments than the first one. Nothing younger ones can't handle, just be aware for those under ~6.

Is it worse than the evil puppet in Toy Story 4. They jumped but otherwise handled it ok.

People are seldom anything more than a sum of their experiences. A 3yo has fewer experiences to draw upon than a 30yo. You have no idea the summation of the messages blasted to your child in the next 15 years, but there is a very good chance the child grows up knowing Frozen 2 was special to her. And you expect your daughter's affinity to be apathetic or neutral to the values of the film?

What was a negative value espoused by the film?

Sins of the past being atoned for? Bible must suck for you since sins of the father are a thing.

The scene from the trailer with Elsa and trying to break past the wave gets surprisingly dark and I imagine scary for young ones. I heard someone crying during that scene

Back to the topic - it was very MEH. Songs were weak. Plot was not good. Overall very underwhelming.

It did have some funny parts. Little girls will still love the princesses.

you are welcome to your opinion but no - they weren't amazing. Most reviews I've seen agree with me. My wife is a huge Disney/musical fan. She was more bummed than me. Little kids liked it.

What lessons? They all do what they want and it still works out.

I don't see what the big deal is about the anti colonialism vibe. I saw Ferngulley as a kid and I'd still slash and burn an entire rainforest if it meant I could provide for my family.

Saw this last night and I'm as skeptical as most right wingers about politics in Hollywood but Frozen 2 was fine.

The closest one was "sins of the fathers" and it's not like they advocated for reparations. They just fixed the problem.Much ado about nothing.

Mostly less catchy songs (although Christoph's power ballad was awesome) and a goofy plot but this an ok movie.

People want to complain about the politics of Watchmen, I get it. Frozen 2 ain't it.
