Saw it today. Thought it was decent. Animation was definitely awesome. Storyline was okay but predictable but I did think the parents would be alive in the forest. Best parts were all the nods back to Frozen 1. Luckily my girls are older now, so this will probably be my only viewing of this movie, unlike part 1 which I could recite verbatim at one point in time.

Unsurprisingly, you're 11 and 13 yo probably have a thing for blondes. Maybe they'd surprisingly would like "Who framed Roger Rabbit?" too

I thought Kristoff's music was great. The animation was absolutely incredible. Saw it in IMAX, and was just amazed, not just at the quality, but at the range of animation...it was stunning in a lot of different ways.

I really don't want to make this political (this was more of a funny observation), but where the hell did all the black people come from? In the first movie, I'm not certain there was a single black character (which makes sense for the setting). Somehow, in the span of a couple of years, it became almost 50/50. There's no ret-conning that one.

Saw it last night. My kids will probably enjoy it but it's not memorable. Songs aren't great, dialogue is flat, Anna is intentionally obtuse (her iq is potato when talking to christoff, trying to recreate / revive the comedic scenes from the first movie), whole lotta crap retconned in, artifacts and stories from their parents that didn't exist at all in one added now to take the political route (and to sell merch with new dresses and accessories which is a given with kids programming, regardless of plot).

It's disappointing because they've had years to develop this and this is the plot they came up with. I've had great talks with my girls about Hans and Elsa and Anna after the first movie, even though they were 2 and 4 at the time. This one is more convoluted and less concrete in terms of real world application. The script felt like they were just saying lines to move the story along. Take the next right step sounds like a good moral lesson until you realize that Anna is willing to destroy people's lives and livelihoods to do it, as if that will restore some sort of balance to the scales of justice instead of impoverish a different group of people. They had an opportunity to establish clear thinking and problem solving to bring justice but chose the Burkean baseball bat instead, with magic swooping in to save the day. Why didn't the spirits allow a slow dismantling and water level management that doesn't sacrifice one party at the expense of the other? Who knows? These issues are too complex for a kids move to resolve in an entertaining manner to children, thus why they should have been avoided. And then they crowned the psychopath queen. All good leaders stand ready to destroy their kingdom at a moment's notice.

Instead of piling onto The Debt, consider that this movie was too over the top for slate. He's on to something.

I mean, if we're being honest, Anna was one Elsa ex Machina from being one notch down from Daenerys Targaryen

You're setting the bar a little high for a movie targeted at kids. Anna's obtuse? Yeah, I'm sure that's the point. Perhaps the 6-10 year old targeted audience doesn't quite get subtleness the way dad does.

Not good. Shameless money grab, plot holes galore, just bad. Sequels can be done right, most recently Incredibles 2.

This is the kind of garbage Disney used to do straight to VHS.

Took the 5 yr old granddaughter and she had "happy tears" at the end. So yeah, the songs and plot might be a little off but not sure I didn't feel the same after the initial viewing of F1.

I saw this today. I thought it was pedestrian as far as Disney movies go (although maybe above standard for their sequels) and It had some classic sequel problems especially when things have to be retconned in. The Lost in the Woods sequence was the best part about the movie and will likely dominate my impression of it in a similar way that the Let it Go sequence does in the first.

all i really wanted from the end of this film was the line "I am now "Elsa the White" and for the water spirit to have a name like Shadowfax.

It was more in line to what some folks expectations are around here for kids movies. I lurk on most of the threads on this board and the amount of butt hurt adults have over movies and television shows never ceases to amaze me.

The 2.5 year old liked it until she got a little squirmy in last 20 min.

As a musician, I liked the music but Into The Unkown (I assume this is supposed to be the Let It Go of #2) is kind of technically difficult to expect a kid to be able to sing along with...just saying.

The Next Right Thing song brought a tear to my eye especially after a tough year of losing a loved one. I imagine I wasnt the only adult who felt that way watching that scene.

My kids said it was fun but confusing. The biggest takeaway they got was that turtles breathe from their butts.

Pedestrian overall; 2.5 stars out of five. But I will say the animation was incredible.

Dad buys the tickets. Good script writers appeal to both and this is a well known fact. If your subtle jokes are flat the problem isn't dad.

The first one is full of plot holes and dumb things that wouldn't have been a problem if people just communicated like normal people, so I wasn't expecting an air tight plot in this one. I'm fact, I felt like they basically used Olaf early on to tell the adult audience, "this is a dumb kids movie with magic for the kids. Sit back and enjoy", and honestly it helped put me in a mindset to enjoy it with my 4yr old better.

Christoph's moment was amazing, and I'd say that while there isn't a song close the level of "Let it go", I think I like the soundtrack better. Having said that, I also have to ask myself if I'll still be saying that after viewing 500 and hearing the song 1000000 times on the car.

Our 5 & 3 year old girls loved. The 3 year old did hide at one point but she loved it. They laughed so hard at Olaf.

The dang previews were 25 minutes though. But my 3 year old clapped at the Star Wars preview. I was a proud mommy.

my 4 year old literally asked plot questions for over 2 hrs after watching it. I enjoyed the movie overall, but the plot was way too complex for a kids movie IMO.

Just watched it last night and enjoyed it. Kristoff's power ballad and Olaf stole the show. Olaf's retelling of the 1st movie was absolutely hilarious to me. There were some plot holes and it was predictable but I wasn't going in there expecting to watch an Oscar worthy film.

I think if you go in expecting to laugh and have a life lesson thrown your way, you'll enjoy it too. As stated above the music wasn't as catchy, but it wasn't like the music was bad. I'd rank the songs:

Kristoff's Ballad
Olaf's (Things will make sense when I'm older)
Into the Unknown
The Next Right Thing

Just got around to seeing it this past weekend. Kids loved it, saw it three times in 2 days and have listened to the soundtrack through about 5 times now. My daughter's favorite song is not Into the Unknown, but rather Show Yourself. Sons love Lost in the Woods, though my oldest boy (who hid laughter throughout the movie) said the whole movie was boring. I liked it, and anticipate there will be a Frozen 3: The Moneygrab, focusing on something happening to threaten Anna and Kristoff's wedding.

About ten years ago, I saw Spring Awakening when it opened on Broadway and won the Tony. Many of the cast have moved into some nice roles:

Wendla (Lea Michelle) -- Glee
Moritz (John Gallager) -- Newsroom, Peppermint
Georg (Skyler Astin) -- Pitch Perfect

Jonathan Groff was lead in that cast as Melchior. He started slow but blasted past everyone when he landed the role of Kristoff.
