Kind of a random topic but I bet there are some good answers out there. Especially from parents.

There are some movies that stick out in my mind for this very reason. I saw Jurassic Park 2 as a kid and didn't like it. Then we had to go again the next weekend with my cousins. Then a kid at school had a birthday party and I had to see it a third time. Screw that movie.

Are there any movies y'all have seen way more times than its quality or your enjoyment of it would warrant?

Any of the 8,536 Hallmark Christmas movies starring that chick from Party of 5 where she goes back to her hometown during the Christmas holiday and volunteers at a soup kitchen and finds the true meaning of Christmas by falling in love with the single dad that runs the homeless shelter and getting wisdom bombs dropped on her by the mysterious old homeless guy that might actually be the real Santa Clause.

This is how it is in my household at this time with a wife and 2 daughters.

My wife's family has an obsession with Harry Potter and Brendan Fraser.

Personal preference, but I have seen all the HP movies and Mummy movies way more than I think is necessary.

Drumline. There was a summer it became a joke to have it on in the living room at least once a day.

With the caveat that I'm 100% sure if I watched it today I'd think it was brilliant, Dances With Wolves. My dad would watch this movie all the time and as I kid I thought the movie was like four days long. So even today if I see a reference to it I just this impending feeling of extreme boredom.

I'm with you on Paw Patrol, and not a big fan of Blaze either. Give me Bubble Guppies, PJ Masks, Rusty Rivets, Puppy Dog Pals any day over those.

Luckily, all of the Disney / Pixar / Dreamworks, etc. movies they like and watch a bunch are great.

Most movies that my wife likes.

The worst is probably How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

I've also watched probably hundreds of episodes of The Young & the Restless over the past 20 years. How soaps are still a thing baffles me.

Paw Patrol with British accents is even worse (I learned that they dub it in the UK...Everest has a Scottish accent that you can't understand)

Notwithstanding the whole "talking dogs doing rescues in vehicles" realism, my major problems and questions:

Where does Ryder get his funding?
Why hasn't Mayor Humdinger been arrested multiple times?
Why does Chase get a disproportionate number of assignments?
Why does Chase get water assignments instead of Zuma?
Why hasn't Marshall been suspended multiple times for safety violations and carelessness?
Doesn't Ryder know that if he keeps spending all his time polishing his vehicles, Katie is going to go with bad boy ski rat Jake?

Glad to know I'm not alone in thinking about all of the ridiculousness in that show (outside of the talking dogs obviously)...

I give the dude credit though, he at least puts the characters through some real struggle before falling in love. Hallmark tells us that a woman's expected struggle is when the new real estate developer boyfriend wasn't 100% up front with her about his intentions to tear down their family owned, quaint, perfect, small northern town bookshop / bed and breakfast / coffee shop / dance studio / Christmas shop. Despite her inability to comprehend any clues he gave her, she storms out and refuses to talk to him until he quits his evil company and moves to her small town where they will never be unhappy.

I don't understand the people who say they watch these movies they hate bc their spouse likes them.

If my wife is watching something I'm not interested in, I find something else to do. She does the same if I'm watching something she doesn't like.

Watching something stupid with your kid, I understand.

You missed one of the best Hallmark plotlines. Handsome Prince from some tiny country in Europe is widowed with a little girl. Somehow his staff hires a nanny from the US to come take care of his 8 year old who misses her mom who died from cancer at Christmas a few years ago. Plot twist this isn't the first time time the prince and nanny have met and he forgot to mention he was a prince the first time. When they meet in the castle she is shocked and mad at him/ refuses to speak to him. She does her job perfectly and takes care of his daughter who loves doing Christmas stuff. The prince hasn't celebrated Christmas since his wife died so she eventually gets him in the spirit. Along the way you have the local evil Duchess who is trying to get married to the Prince. Nanny falls in love with the Prince, but realizes it won't happen since she is the help. There is a Christmas ball and with the help of the castle manager being a fairy godmother she is turned into a beautiful princess and makes a grand entrance into the ball. The prince immediately falls in love and leaves leaves the evil duchess. The prince proposes at the ball and they get married and live happily ever after.

And yet in all these Hallmark movies nobody ever does the no pants dance.

These movies are practically begging for some soft core pornography they're so cliched and by the numbers already they might as well cover all the bases....
