Opposite of the Villains that did nothing wrong thread!

Walter White, classic anti-hero. In the last season he's straight up evil but there is redemption at the very end.

Vincent from Pulp Fiction. Clumsy and negligent gangster. Leaves his heroin out for Mia and leaves his gun out for Butch to shoot him. Shoots Marvin in the face--how hard is it to not point a loaded gun at the guy in the back seat?

Jordan Belfort from Wolf of Wall Street. Overall scumbag and unlikable person, but I guess that's the point of the story.

Nancy Botwin from Weeds. One of the most selfish protagonists I've seen on any tv show. Constantly puts her family in danger with her drug selling habit. Screws people over throughout the whole show.

Frank Underwood. Because of course.

Frodo.

Look, I get it. It took courage to even try to take the ring to Mordor. But he was just so whiny along the way. It's like he says in Two Towers, Frodo wouldn't have gotten far without Sam. He saves Frodo's ass time and time again, freaking throws Frodo over his shoulder and carries him up Mount Doom, only to see Frodo try to keep the ring.

Samwise is the most heroic character in that trilogy.

There's a lot of different ways you can interpret this question. Whether it's good guys that are actually bad people, good guys that we're supposed to like but that you can't help but hate, and then there's also guys that are presented as good in-story, but that are horrible at their jobs.

The best example of this is maybe Yoda. Dude totally sucks at his job. Listening to the 'Binge Mode' podcast they frequently joke about this, but Yoda and the Jedi completely botch their mission at every step in the prequels.

Frodo is definitely not a bad guy but he is easily one of the weakest protagonists in any story I've read/watched.

Yes but they couldn't sense a sith turning the republic into an empire right under their noses. One of funny parts of Binge Mode is when they kill Mace Windu for his reaction to Anakin telling him Palpatine is a Sith Lord. 'And finally, years too late, the Jedi have finally figured out what's happening...'

Harry Potter is almost a main guy that sucks. He does a really good job at almost getting himself and his friends killed on several occasions. If not for Hermoine Granger, Harry might not have made it past his first year or so.

I'll nominate Elsa. This ***** almost destroyed the country(city? city-state?), almost murdered her sister, and sent a giant ice monster to kill her sister and her friend. She also neglects her job and family for a good part of her life. While she failed to leave at first, she completes it the next time around. Also, she's like an extremely powered mutant. Why doesn't she do something good with her powers?

Well I don't mean with his wizarding abilities. On several occasions he makes insane decisions because he's being emo that almost get several people killed. Hell even when he's getting older he almost kills Draco Malfoy by accident by trying a spell he read in the margins of a book.

That would have been a good thing. Harry caught him trying to sneak in death eaters to a school. He could have saved lives.

Yeah but any of his good ol' standby spells would have done the trick also.

I did say almost, I'm just pointing out that Harry goes against everyone's advice on multiple occasions and escapes through a combination of luck and Hermoine being one of the best witches of all time.

I could never get into that well-liked series due to his actions early on.
The first part of Book 1 is a tough start. Nothing like having your protagonist rape someone in the first 50 pages and then watch while every mostly other character for 2000 pages tries to forgive and redeem him.
