I've run a few movie gross pools, but am not this season. I kinda wish I was now, what with Star Wars reviews possibly hurting its weekend take, and the chaos of Cats on top of it.

It's no joke. I'd call it weird but I think that shipped sailed a long time ago.
They should have followed the lead of the Sonic movie and done that BEFORE they released the film.
Thought last night: CATS stole a huge plot point from Logan's Run. Carousel is the Heaviside Layer. In other words, its all fake.
Didn't know they were releasing another version. I have to go see this movie right now.

I dropped my cat off at the shelter after seeing this movie.
Well, I guess this pretty much guarantees we'll never see a Thundercats live-action movie.
I feel like I've had nightmares exactly like this...
Went hoping to love it and prove the critics wrong. Fell asleep several times. Jennifer Hudson was awesome though. The CGI didnt bother me. Some of the singers I could barely make out the lyrics they were singing. And it is Just a very weird movie. I saw CATS on Broadway and loved it by the way.
NYC celebrated when this finally left Broadway. Now these cats are terrorizing America and it's much worse than a non equity national tour.
You can barely make out what they are singing most of the movie, and every song is about a cat and their name and how they're a cat with a name. And the name of the cat. And Jason Derulo mumbling things now and then. And cat names. And so on until the end. Well you think it's the end but then it goes on for ten more grueling minutes about cats... and their names. And then it's over. Except for three more minutes about cats names. Also cat puns like every 30 seconds. And if you get nauseous easily maybe don't watch most of it. That's it. And cat names.
I went to see this in theaters and the entire audience's faces melted like the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark when they opened the Ark of the Covenant.
Horrible movie. I fell asleep halfway through and laughed my way through the first 15 min
So bad I came home and punched my cat in its face

Movies like this are why I think in a lot of instances Hollywood is just ****ing with us. There's no way the hundreds of people involved in making this movie were all thinking this was a good idea.

I have to wonder if due to the musical and all if the movie, even as bad as it is, doesn't end up with some cult following of people who love a bad movie.
Update: Saw it last week and can easily say the critics are wrong, Cats is amazing. We laughed, we cried, we went to the Jellicle Ball, and we ascended to Heaviside Layer. Jellicle Cats can and in fact do.
I actually like the musical and don't know how everyone was seemingly caught off guard for this movie. It was almost exactly like the musical, in fact I found that the movie did a better job of explaining what was happening more than the musical does. The new Taylor Swift song they added into actually fits in really well and helps boost the emotional impact of Memory. The musical is historically known for being "bad" but it was also on broadway for 18 years, something doesn't stay around that long if at least some people didn't like it.
Questions you may have:
If you don't like the musical are you going to like the movie? Probably not!
If you don't like musicals in general are you going to like the movie? Probably not!
If you like other musicals are you going to like the movie? Big maybe!
Does it get weird? Yeah it gets real weird, the outro with Judi Dench is real awkward.
How much Taylor Swift is in it? Not a lot, she is only in one song and it's near the end.
Is Rum Tug Tugger going to steal your girl? Absolutely
Will the Jellicle Cat song be stuck in your head for at least a week? 100%
Should you go see this movie? Maybe listen to a couple of the songs from the soundtrack and if doesn't sound like something you want to hear more of then you should probably sit this one out. If you like weird "bad" movies bring a flask with you and you'll probably have a great time.
