We have watched S2 through E6. Completely wheels off and stressful to watch.

Was thrown with Bradley suddenly being a lesbian. I don't care if she is but that seemed completely out of character and was done to just amp up the crazy even more.

Crazy season.

Also. #TeamYanko

Reece Witherspoon seems insufferable on this show. Bad casting. Her character falls flat and her accent is doo doo.

Aniston plays herself in every role but somehow she grows into it and it works by end of Season 1.

Steve Carell is nails. Very good job by him.

Dude that plays Corey head of network is nails. Very good actor.

They've started in on Covid and Trump now so I might bail on this show on that basis. No need to relive that ****.

Show does a good job on both sides of the #metoo issue. The "spirit animal" controversy was also well done.

Got a feeling this show about to take a nosedive midway through season 2, but I could be wrong ... but probably not due to my track record of being right about most things.

They started to go off the rails with this show with the weird asian lady they brought in to be new head of network.

They went full Cousin Oliver. Poor casting and poorly written and forced character. Nobody that weird is getting to be head of a tv network.

But the show seems like what it might be really like on one of these shows.

Season 1 did a nice job of telling both sides of the story. It was great. Season 2 is one-sided and pretty bad overall; so much that they canned the showrunner after it.

So far, Season 3 is an improvement over Season 2. I'm enjoying it for the most part.

Carell does an outstanding job towards end of S2.

Aniston grows into the role and is less annoying.

Asian head of network is cousin oliver. Her and Reece Witherspoon seem like they don't fit with the show.

Will keep watching and continue with this lockdown expert commentary.

Allright. I take back everything bad I said about Jennifer Aniston.

She won me over and she knows what she's doing. A solid performance at the end of season 2.

The show is well done and the sound quality is good as well.

You can see where they threw a lot of money at this show.

The writing for the show is solid.

Last two episodes of S3 I haven't enjoyed

Agree with comments about Cory actor. He is the most entertaining character in this show. Hard not to root for him

Lol the writing on this show is horrendous. They threw tons of money everywhere it can visibly seen, especially overpaying expensive guest stars for non-key roles, but didn't leave any money in the budget for a decent writing staff.

S3 has leaned into the "this is a well produced train wreck vibe" and is taking itself less seriously, so it's been more fun. Hamm and Aniston are good together, and she's still really throwing herself into this one with a level of effort she doesn't have to give (aka this week's sex scene).

The show benefits from not being weighed down by having to shoehorn Carrell storyline in for a role that changed significantly after they signed him to a 2 year contract before the Matt Lauer incident.

They got out of control with this show on season 3.

Felt like the show had momentum at end of season 2 but it gets muddy.

The character Stella doesn't resonate. Shes a female bruce lee inserted i to the show. The writing is bad there and also the writing is bad for that other producer lady.

Chip and his gf are lame.

No way these a-holes drink as much as they do and get up at 3:30 am and do a show.

The episodes about covid sucked and memorializes the level of hysteria that went on. Masks are stupid and you cant watch a show where people are wearing masks. The masks were annoying and distract from the show. You cant listen to the dialogue because you thinking how stupid masks are.

I seen better sex scene on days of our lives. Lame.

This is an expensive show, but not a very good one. I've had to practically force myself to pay attention. Only doing so because I like Jennifer Aniston, Jon Hamm and Reece Witherspoon and I keep hoping it clicks.

I feel like it's better when it focuses on the network's internal conflicts without the backdrop of current events. Otherwise it's both weak and preachy.

Wildest part about this show was the demonstration of how these media people read from the teleprompter

; verbatim.

Can look like the most heartfelt *** ever then the camera pans to the prompter.

Even the reactions and banter is scripted line by line.

News readers is right, and this show shows that like never before.

They upstaged themselves with Hamm and Carell.

Female talent not puling their weight.

Thats pretty obvious at this point.

This hot take is worse than your previous "the writing on this show is solid" one.

Thats too bad man.

It is what it is.

But I feel like they should have gone with some lesser known actresses for this title roles.

What they've got here is too much for them.

They oukicked their coverage on these female leads.

They got to bring in some new some new talent if this show is to survive.

They'll have to Mitch off one of 'em.

I'm surprised not one of the female leads succumbed to covid.

That would have been a good opportunity.

Season one was a pleasant surprise. Soapy for sure, but maybe the best possible version of an hourlong "broadcast" drama, except with sex and swearing.

Season two, however, was somehow one of the worst seasons of television I've ever seen. Just zero redeeming value, IMO.

Season three, so far, is somewhere in between, but definitely more bad than good, with episode five - the utterly insane January 6th episode - up there with the worst of season two. At this point, everyone I know who still watches this show watches because it's an addictive, preposterous train wreck, from which we simply can't look away (though I know one person who finally bailed for good after episode five).

That said, while I haven't seen this week's episode yet, last week's - episode six - was easily the best episode since the first season, with some genuinely great moments.

I checked out after season 1. Wasn't terrible but just felt like constant forced conflict and drama to try and fill an hour. And the incessant swearing to sound edgy or hardened was just dumb. Especially from the producer.
Sounds like I made the right call if season 2 was that bad. Too bad because I like all the people involved. I even liked Carrell as a less than good guy.

Getting a little soft on this last one. A lot of fluff.

The people going nuts over the Roe deal was over the top. The dude going to his mom's house was over the top. Cooking lobsters and doing battle with mom.

They need some other storyline. They struggling.

Season 1 when the scandal broke out. He breaks the TV on the wall and you can't help but think of the office once you go back and watch.

I told my wife last night, I would not watch season 4. The show is just going downhill with the writing of the characters. All the men are being written out of the show or are now minor characters. It is a bit cringy on how predictable they are in choosing topics that are not really in my field of interest. I get it, it is media based show, so they likely act like this, but cringy non the less.

I could not stop laughing at the paparazzi pic of Alex and Paul Marks. It looked it was taken by someone literally standing in his living room five feet away.

To be fair, those houses don't seem particularly secure. Reese and Juliana Marguilies were running around in Corey's bedroom in the house right next door like 2 episodes ago.

this was the final straw for me. Super cringe. Might pick it back up when there's a lull in things to watch much later.

Even Law and Order thinks The Morning Show is bad at "ripped from the headlines" plots.

Dr. Manhattan is such a great actor and was the only bright spot for me. He has been an amazing in some of my favorite films, Sleepers, Almost Famous, Watchmen…

Decent episode but this show has a lot of flat spots.

A lot of preaching going on as well.

So we'll see.

The usual cheese notwithstanding, yeah, I thought this was a good episode with legitimately compelling drama and interesting emerging factions. I can't stand the 20/20 hindsight retro preaching - it's such a lazy way to moralize - but in terms of sheer story-telling mechanics this was one of the better entries. Why can't this always be the show?

A genuinely great episode! Easily one of the best of the series.*

Which now somehow makes for back-to-back quality episodes.

Dare I say I'm actually looking forward to the finale next week?

(*Per usual, I feel the need to caveat any compliments with the acknowledgement of the standard soapiness, terrible green screens, this-is-all-uber-serious-but-also-pretty-dumb vibe, and general over-the-top nature of the show.)

Agreed, I got few complaints.

Scene with Bradley and her gf was pretty bad though. Reminded me of Dusty from pure country.

Finale was a mess.

The past 2 season finales have been bonkers, and kind of made up for some of the preceding episodes.

This tried to follow a similar template, but just didn't really work at all.

Oh well, they'll hire some other big name to replace Jon Hamm and 3 or 4 extra medium sized names to go along with them, and it will be an entertaining mess to watch again next season when it comes back in like 2 years.

The show has been what it's been from the start.
