Didn't see a thread on this one so I figured what the heck.

Anyone catch the premiere of the docuseries about the McDonalds Monopoly scandal on HBO last night? Very well done and intriguing first episode. I grew up on going to McDonalds and collecting the game pieces hoping to win one of the big prizes. Didn't realize the full on scandal this was causing behind the scenes.

Also that FBI agent Doug Matthews is a freaking character. Hilarious guy and was perfect for the "undercover" production operation they showed in the first episode.

Really? I tried... found it incredibly boring and can't imagine watching 6 hours of TV related to the story.

I found that article too. but I seem to remember a 48 hrs or dateline kind of show covering this....oh well. The article has most of the info but I could see watching this if you hadn't heard the full story already.

With that being said, watched the episode 1 of doc last night... two thumbs up

Also, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon bought the rights to this article to turn it into a movie. There was a big announcement about it a while back.

Looking forward to the first episode of the doc series in the next night or two.

I remember watching the same show/series. Very well done and intriguing. Unfortunately, I can't find any information online. One of life's greatest mysteries...

That beach scene was straight out of a movie and it really happened.

I don't remember all the hoopla around this and never did collect the pieces or go there much at all until the kids were born, so this is all pretty fascinating.

Really enjoyed the first episode, and such a great cliffhanger to end it.

Hoover slipped up twice while telling his story the first time. He called the game pieces instant winners and then tried to act like he didn't know what they were called before describing peeling the game pieces to reveal the instant $1M winner.

Very entertaining episode. HBO continues to bring it.

I wish I could rent this, outside of signing up for HBOs service.

Its not just HBO....there seems to be one show on several services that I'd like to watch, but dont wanna sign up for a bunch of them.

But yes, I get it. It just gives me tired head, and I wish I could rent it.

That's fair. You could sign up and then immediately cancel and I'm pretty sure it would let you play out the month

That will definitely work if not in a free trial period, but don't do it yet because I think there is more than a month's worth of episodes left.

If you have Prime, you get free trials and it's much easier to cancel before you get charged.

Just finished episode one. I'm in. Very intrigued.
