I'm halfway through season one, which debuted on Wednesday, and it's pretty good. Nothing groundbreaking or amazing, but it's really well made and a nice change of pace for this type of thing. Basically, it's kind of like an indie Stranger Things or a quirky coming-of-age dramedy with a hint of X-Men. Stars two of the kid actors from It, and is set in a similar town/setting. Seven-episode first season, each episode 30 minutes or less, and they fly by. Worth checking out if you're looking for a new series...

I loved The End of the F***ing World so this one is on my list.

It definitely seemed like this might end up being a Carrie remake, but thankfully, no. I, for one, was happy that no one gets doused with a bucket of PIG blood.

It definitely has an 80s feel but it is present day. I believe they have done this on purpose to give the overall atmosphere a depressing vibe to tie in with the main characters' moody disposition. In fact, if it wasn't for the use of modern cell phones you'd have no clue it was a current-day situation.

I'm through 6 of the 8 episodes. I can't tell if they just wanted this show to feel like an 80s show like Stranger Things, or if they just wanted the town to feel like the land that time forgot because it's just so terrible there. I really like it so far, they've nailed the awkwardness. The clothes, cars, school, everything feels like the 80s...with smart phones.

Just finished the last episode. Haha. That was a bit of a shocker for sure. I enjoyed it but It's not the type of show the I'll be waiting on pins and needles until the next season comes out. Hopefully, given the short length of the episodes, it's not the type of series that waits 12-18 months before they release the next season.

The end of the last episode made me feel like this whole first season was just an introduction. We still know basically nothing.
