Merle Haggard AND Willie Nelson at the same time. Unfortunately, Merle passed away weeks before the show near Canyon Lake on the Guadalupe River.

I was lucky enough to catch them at Willie's 4th of July picnic right before Merle passed, and am so glad I got the opportunity. It's strange to think about it looking back, but if you would have told me one of them was close to death, I would have figured Willie at the time, but that man just keeps on chugging away (and I'm grateful for that, gotten to see him twice more since then).

I saw Slayer on the South of Heaven tour. I think that is the best concert I've been to. Motorhead opened btw.

I think the last time the original lineup played nearby was during the Slayer/Megadeth/Anthrax tour in 2010. I was a freshmen in high school in Laredo and didn't drive so my parents weren't able to take me to the San Antonio show lol

The Motorhead show I almost went to was the Austin 2015 one where Lemmy had to leave 2 songs in. That semester I was taking a wednesday lab from 7:30 pm to like 10 and because we were only meeting once per week I couldn't skip it. If I had known that was Lemmy's last year I would have :/

David Bowie
Prince
Beastie Boys
Nirvana

These are people that I could have actually seen when they were alive. Didn't list awesome bands like Beatles and LZ because I wasn't born when they were bands.

Ronnie was incredible. Saw him play a few times. Once as Dio and once with his era lineup of Sabbath billed as Heaven & Hell so Tony Iommi didn't upset Sharon Osbourne.

Had tickets to see Zeppelin in the Super Dome, show cancelled after Plant's son passed away.

Went to the drag races instead of going to see Hendrix in SA at the Hemisphere Arena (I was 13 and not in control of the car). He was dead 4 months later.

Saw SRV twice but I wish I would have seen him 100 times or more in the bars.

Had tickets to see Genesis with Peter Gabriel at Moody on the SMU campus. Everyone began arriving, as we walked to the entrance there was a note on the door "SHOW CANCELLED".

Saw Elvis outside of the Convention Center Arena in Dallas in his limo but the show was sold out.

The one I did not miss was AC/DC W/ Bon Scott, third show they ever did in the USA at The Ritz in CC.

Fred was a little older than me and had a much better grasp of the english language than I do . We both grew up in the heyday of live music and for that I will be forever grateful.

I have seen just about everybody I have ever wanted to see. Growing up in Corpus Christi that is know small feat either.

I would have liked to have seen The Doors but seeing them live was an absolute crap shoot as to which Morrison showed up.

I had ticket to see Grand Funk in CC (ticket was $4) and the show was cancelled last minute due to an illness (Mark Farner had laryngitis). I would have really liked to have seen them in their prime, I did see Mark Farner many years later, great show but not Grand Funk.

I also sat on the front row for KISS on their very first tour. That ticket was also $4. I have some great photos of that show.

I saw some amazing acts growing up but unfortunately I am now plagued with non-stop ringing in my ears.

Wear concert ear plugs, believe me you will thank me in the future.

I feel lucky to have been able to see Nirvana on the In Utero tour. It was general admission and I fought my way up front to right in front of Kurt Cobain for the whole show. There was just one girl in front of me and then the railing. Also saw Alice in Chains on the dirt tour. Layne Staley looked like he did in the Would video. Also general admission. Got as close as I could, but still several rows back.

I can understand your stand but it is just not worth it. Trust me it NEVER goes away.

I asked my ENT once if I go completely deaf will I still hear the ringing and his response was YES.
