All of the favorites cruised to victory except for one major upset -- Princess Leia's Theme knocked out Battle of Heroes to make it into the Elite 8. BOTH put up a good fight, but it just couldn't compete with the love people have for Leia, and for Carrie Fisher. (Well deserved, too.)

Battle of the Heroes never resonated with me. Was a poor man's Duel of the Fates, but I might just be biased because I didn't like the Anakin-Obiwan fight all that much. Leia's music is gorgeous. Loved hearing it throughout the sequels.

My appreciation for it has grown steadily over the years. Still not DotF level, but not terribly far off.

One of these matches is a dead heat.

I still remember going to the Portland Orchestra on a school trip in 4th grade (1981-1983 time frame). Everyone was messing around and halfway listening until they began the Star Wars theme. Every kid in the building immediately looked. 300 kids of all ages shut up at one moment.

These are painful choices now. Yoda vs. DOTF!?! Neither of those should ever have to come out on the losing side of a vote.

Damn you John Williams. Why do you have to be so good? God forbid we ever do this bracket for all his music, not only Star Wars.

That bracket is garbage.

Lapti Nek vs Yub Nub is the real battle. Both blow the entire combined scores of all movies away.

I think Across the stars is ranked too high

Votes really ramped up late today, and one of the matches has taken a pretty surprising turn.

Yoda does it again! After the best round of voting yet, Yoda continues to tear through the competition and has knocked out the #1 seed Duel of the Fates in decisive fashion. (Bracket results.)

This match was dead even for a while, until Yoda ran away with it late in the game.

With Yoda having also won the Quotes Tournament, this is certainly proving that people love them some Yoda. Could this be a dark horse to win it all?

Our three other matches were huge wins for the favorites, leaving the prequels out of the Final Four entirely. (Sad to see it happen.) At least Throne Room did manage almost 20%, which is a solid showing considering its competition.

I thin it whould have been in the final four, but shouldn't have been the #1 seed, and got burned for it.

One of our two semifinals is a fairly close match and still anyone's game.

Jedi Master Yoda comes to the end of his run, losing against the Main Theme by a margin of 90% - 10% . (Winning this would have been a Herculean task, but then again, size matters not.)

Meanwhile, in a result which may surprise many -- the Imperial March gets easily dispatched by the Force Theme, losing by a margin of 64% - 36%.

Godspeed to maybe the two most powerful beings in the galaxy - Darth Vader and Yoda.
