I know she has a following on this board, but I'm not sure if everyone has followed her lately. It seems honeyhoney is on some sort of hiatus, but she's released a solo album that was produced by Butch Walker. She also appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience with Gary Clarke Jr.

To me, she's easily the most underrated person in music today. She has a timeless and flawless voice, can play multiple instruments, and has the skill of songwriting far above anything you hear in modern culture.

So weird/cool to see her name pop up here. I may have mentioned this before, but I knew Suzanne when she was a waitress at one of my favorite BBQ spots here in LA. I got to know her there, she invited me and a couple friends to her very first performance at a no-name bar, we went, and were friends for a few years after. I've probably seen her perform live at least a dozen times. I hadn't seen or talked to her in years, though, once she really took off, but we went to a local, low-key concert of hers a couple years ago and caught up after. It's crazy to watch someone go from no-name waitress to a semi-star like she has. And yeah, she's not only a phenomenal singer-songwriter, but also one of the nicest, most down-to-earth people you'll ever meet. I keep waiting for her to truly blow up, and think she will one of these days, as she absolutely has the talent and deserves to.

I wish this was on one of her albums. I have an old demo CD she gave me, and thought it was on there, and would have uploaded it, but no such luck. It's a cover of Smashing Pumpkins "1979," and it's so damn good. Found it on YouTube, though, and it's easily one of my favorites of hers...

Hadn't heard of her but will have to check her out. I'm a big Butch Walker fan so if he's on board then so am I.

I'm so jealous of you. She's been my favorite female singer behind Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation) for the last 5 years.

Any idea what's going on with her and the guy from honeyhoney? On the Rogan podcast it sounds like she doesn't even know.

She's legit. Ben from honeyhoney is a great musician as well. Hope they'll be back sooner than later.

Ben is super cool/talented, and they were a great duo and great friends, but I always got the feeling that he was more into her than she was into him, romantically speaking, and it might have caused issues. In the early-ish honeyhoney days, Suzanne hinted a couple times that they dated briefly, but it was kind of hush hush for some reason, and I'm wondering if that eventually caused issues. I also think her star simply got too bright. That said, at the last concert I saw her, in 2018, Ben came up on stage for a song or two. They're still friends it seems like, but I honestly doubt they get back together in an official capacity. I'm sure they'll continue to play together live here and there, but this latest effort feels like a pretty strong push for her to go solo for good, should her new album take off when it drops in September.

Some friends and I actually had tickets to see her again next week here in LA, but it obviously got cancelled due to the lock down. Hopefully it's rescheduled for the fall.

I saw her play a solo show at The Rustic in Houston last fall. Would have preferred to see her at a different venue, but she was incredible. So much talent.

Bumping this thread.

My son is 4 months old now. Whenever he has big feelings, I put on my Suzanne / Honeyhoney playlist and he calms right down, and usually even falls asleep. This song is the money maker.. and dear lord her voice in the chorus gives me chills.

And this one too.. love the ending the most
